Questions:

What’s your go-to for unwinding after a stressful event or day?   Can be someone or something – music, pets, family or whatever you choose.

I love hugging my pets, my furbabies, or at least playing with them. I also need to watch something funny, sometimes there are the old faithfuls I go back and sometimes I’ll look for a new one.

The plane you’re flying in is going to crash, no survivors.  If you had one song you could listen to before it happens, what would it be?  (credit toNewEpicAuthor for this one).  Please share the link to the song if you can.

I have really been thinking about this one, because there are so many songs that I just love. The one that keeps popping into my mind though every time, even though maybe not always first. So I’m going to go with that one.

What is one thing you’re really, really good at and not ashamed to admit it?  I worded that deliberately because aren’t we taught to be humble and not pushy about our achievements?  Celebrate your ability!

I am really good at listening. Which I think especially at the moment is so important. I think we’ve stopped forgetting how to listen.  Everyone’s determined to be right, instead of listening. I think it’s a big problem at the moment.

Would you rather lose all of your money and valuables or all of the pictures you have ever taken?

Wooo, i was going to say the money to be honest, because you can work at getting that back, but it seems to involve valuables too though?  Pictures, you can’t always get them back, especially older photos. Once they’re gone (like great grandparents) they are gone forever.

And lastly

What were you grateful for or something that made you smile during the past month?

That my practical videos for my online classes FINALLY LOADED!!!lol

If you drink coffee, how do you like it best?  Hot, cold, iced, with cream, with sugar or black as black?

I used to drink, but I find that it exasperate’s my anxiety, so I don’t drink it anymore. Sometimes I get cravings for it, only sometimes still.

If you don’t drink coffee, how has that beverage impacted YOUR world?

Saying that though tea has been impacting my world, big time lately. It means I can keep drinking and I love all the different flavours and each one does actually seem to make me feel something different. Some make me feel calmer, tired, awake, comfy. It’s brilliant!

In your opinion, what’s the greatest invention of our age?

I think the mobile phone is. Just because if you are in a jam it’s handy having a phone with the phone numbers already in it, that you can call. You try going without your phone all day. We have become so reliant on it, probably more to do with the social media aspect. But I really do believe that the mobile phone is the greatest invention of my age.

Global warming?  Reality or myth?

Total Reality.

Are you an explorer or more a home body?

More of a home body, but every know and then I like to explore. Where I live is perfect for it as well. It has a little park and a little cafe nearby, that looks over the park and the man made wetlands. Sometimes I’ll walk around and then finish off with a nice drink at the cafe. Not so much during Winter though, lol

and last:

What were you grateful for this week?

I am so grateful for the people in my life. I may not have “best friends” anymore but I have the best of friends ❤

What is your favorite color of hair? You can name your hair color or a color that you just like.

My natural hair colour is dark brown. I would love though to have fiery red hair…I’ve tried dying my hair, but I would have to completely bleach my hair to get that…Let’s be honest, it’ll probably look great after two washes, and that’s it. I am honest enough to know that I am too lazy to keep up the maintenance.

List at least 5 things that you are good at.

  • Listening.
  • Loving others…hehe
  • Cuddles!

What is your favorite animal or type of animal? (pets, dolphins, stuffed, wild cats, etc)

  • I have a lot of stuffed animals and I love them all,lol
  • Lions
  • Wolves
  • Owls
  • Bulls (but that because I’m a Taurus)
  • Rats
  • Whales
  • Any monkey
  • Really…all of the big cats
  • Hyena
  • Elephants
  • Any animal that’s been on safarilive
  • …Any animal really,lol

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

My partner just actually cuddling me…Cuddles and nothing else. Usually he tries to tickle me or “feel me up”, he doesn’t ever just “cuddles”,lol…He’s started this new habit as well very recently…If you’ve ever watched Shrek 2…They are on the way to meet Fiona’s “Mum and Dad” and on the way Donkey keeps clicking with his mouth in their ears…Yep, my partner keeps doing that, lol

Challenges

52. Did the Challenge change you?

I don’t think that the Challenge changed me, but it definitely did make me think more. I loved doing it because there were definitely times during the weeks that it made me think about things that made me happy. I needed that this year! A couple of times, as well, it got me too write something when I just wanted to lie on the couch. It got me up, thinking and writing and that I am VERY grateful for!

I am now currently in the process of trying to find a new Challenge for 2018.

100 miles

51. 100 things to be thankful for…I got up to 20 because I am grateful for a lot in my life, but it’s so hard to think of 100 individual things.

  1. Honestly, just feel grateful to be alive and starting to feel a lot better.
  2. My family…They have helped me to not feel so alone and isolated through all the horrible things this year.
  3. SafariLive just in general – YouTube clip.
  4. I am SO thankful for music! Whatever mood I am in, it can either make me feel better or make me feel like someone out there has gone through what I have and I don’t feel so alone.
  5. I am definitely grateful for living in Australia, everything’s a little nutty. I still think we are pretty lucky here in Australia.
  6. I am grateful for being able to have a nice shower when I can.
  7. I am grateful for everybody I have met…Good or Bad…They’ve taught me something that’s made me stronger.
  8. I guess I’ll go with I am also grateful for every good and bad situation anymore.
  9. I am grateful that I got a couple of years with my Great Grandfather. Even those couple of years have influenced me my whole life.
  10. I am glad that Net Neutrality has not come up in Australia…Seriously, that stuff is whack!
  11. I am VERY grateful that my partner lives near a cafe that looks out onto man-made wetland. It’s not perfect, but it’s a great place to walk around and get out.
  12. I am so grateful for my pets! I like to call them both my “unofficial anxiety helper animals”. They have helped me out so much! What makes me sad is that they’ll never know!
  13. I am glad that I even have one thing to be grateful about.
  14. I am glad my country isn’t voting about Net Neutrality, or against it.
  15. I am grateful for technology keeping me in touch with family and friends overseas (even if social media can be toxic at times).
  16. I am grateful that I am able to walk by myself. Ever since my panic attack I have taken up walking nearly every day (some days are just too hot at the moment). Walking was my first way out of the house and decreasing my chances of getting agoraphobia on top as everything else as well.
  17. I am grateful that I actually have at least one thing to be grateful for.
  18. I am grateful that I can read.
  19. I am grateful for my ability to have a backbone and stand up for what I believe!
  20. I am glad for the heart that I have. It’s a kind one.

Life Lessons

52. Life Lessons learnt this year

Well this is definitely no small topic! It’d be easier to write about what I haven’t learnt this year!

  • It’s during the hard time that you truly do find out who loves you and who your friends are.
  • Read something that makes you feel uncomfortable, but makes you understand more.
  • I think we need to start taking our health more seriously. Even when we’re young, we do take a lot of it for granted.
  • Have an extra circular hobby! There’s nothing like being sick and not being able to get out and having nothing to do. Nothing to concentrate on when you are stuck inside!
  • When you are feeling blue…Watch a comedy! Don’t listen to anything sad or miserable. Watch something that really makes you laugh.
  • If you don’t sleep well it can really screw up your day…Ever since I started taking my anxiety medication, I have been having real trouble falling asleep.
  • Although this may sound very depressing. Learn to take care of yourself, with the real important things. Don’t rely on others too help you.

Winter Wonderland

49. Things you like about Winter

Even though it’s Summer here, it still actually feels like Winter is here still. It was literally reported on the news that over the pass week, at the start of the week. That there was going to be 3 months of rain in three days and it has most have definitely felt like it!

I am also not really a big “Winter” person, I tend to get very miserable and not being able to just head out when I want too can be frustrating (but this can also happen in Summer, just with a little heat). I find it can also be easier to cool down, then to warm up. Nothing to seems to ache in Spring/Summer either.

However, there are a few things that I do enjoy about Winter:

  • Having a hot drink, especially on a cold, rainy night. I like to just hold it in my hands.
  • It’s more of an excuse for cuddling!
  • Those long hot showers and baths.
  • I look good in a coat!
  • Wrap yourself up in bed with a good book!

A job is a job

48. Your Job

I have two jobs at the moment, I work as a casual at both places. I am actually looking to get a more permanent position, I can go a couple of weeks without any work…Which is not where I want to be. However being a casual has a couple of perks and you mainly make more money (when you get the work). So I have had to become a really good saver. I can also say no to work as well. If something happens, that I don’t have to work (but I don’t get paid if I don’t work).

I have taken the last couple of weeks to help recuperate and I feel like I’m getting stronger, so I’ve asked to go back. So far, they don’t really have any shifts for me. Which is a little frustrating, I want to get back into everything. Get back into a routine again. Work is good in that it gives you something else to think about. Instead of staying at home and going through a morning routine and then nothing else to think about for the rest of the day. There have been a few times in life where I’ve appreciated having work to go to instead of hanging around all day and thinking.

But you have to get the right job for you

Working in the Library is something that I’ve wanted to do for years and I am so happy to finally be apart of it. It’s taken me about two years to get that first foot and sometimes, that’s what you need!

Those Opportunities

47. Opportunities you’ve been given

*I probably should have written this one when I was going too. It got posted today with no words, lol*

The most grateful opportunity I automatically thought of was the opportunity that I was born into the family that I have been born into.

Bad and Good my family have shown me such a variety of life. My mums side are incredibly close and yet we are so incredibly different and at the same time we get on very well and we respect each other differences. I love being with them. Whereas my Dad’s side, as much as I do love them…They are all exactly the same and yet, cannot for the life of them, get along at all. Half the time they’re not even talking to each other.

It’s a very interesting dynamic.

It has shown me so much of the world and how I view it. How you can be different and get along, how you can be the same and not be on the same page at the same time…It’s really quiet interesting…My Dad’s side they say the exact same things, they are all pretty racist and gullible. YET, they say they are better than the others, when they don’t speak to each? It’s hilarious! If they knew that they are pretty much the same person (and believe me I’ve wanted to tell them) I think they’d be incredibly surprised.

A great example of this was of my Dad over this weekend. He said that I was not allowed to invite a particular Aunt and her family to my wedding (I’m not getting married by the way). They’re the “minority” because no one is talking to them from my Dads family. Yet my Dad and the ones he talks too would actually be the minority at my wedding. I haven’t seen anyone from that side for years (apart from this Aunt and her family) and everybody at my wedding know this particular Aunt and her family, they actually do call her their Aunt as well. The family members that my Dad talks too, apart from my Dad, haven’t even met my partner yet!lol

46. Technology

This was an such a coincidence that this topic is about Technology. My partners computer went a bit funny this week and we had to use our phones to figure out what might be the problem. Which brought up the conversation about how when my computer went down I also had to use my phone to work out what to do to fix it.

What would we have done if we didn’t have our phones? We’d have to take it physically somewhere.

Can’t live with it, can’t live without it either.

I am grateful for technology in that it keeps me in contact with my family and good friends. It has also been useful for my anxiety, in that I can watch funny videos, I can play games on my phone and keep myself distracted. I try to remind myself of the good things that technology provides us with when I see use it for bad.
