International Day of Charity

Today is the International Day of Charity.

What are the things you think of when you think Charity?

  • Others
  • Money
  • Donations
  • Donating
  • Help
  • Helpfulness
  • Time

I think a lot of people when they hear “Charity” they usual hear ‘spend money on someone you will probably never met’. However there are ways to do Charity without spending either any money or very little!

Good question!…Mystery Lady

  1. We all know (well I assume we all know) that you can donate clothes, furniture etc to a wide variety of Charities and apart from maybe the gas to get to the stores, it doesn’t cost you a thing!
  2. Spare change? Consider putting some of it into one of the tubs of the people standing/sitting all day for their cause.
  3. Consider a clothes or book swap, with your friends, family, co-workers as well, or community. You can bake and even raise money that way bake and swap!
  4. It seems that every cancer has a charity for it. With each charity comes a “theme” night/day. Consider wearing jean for genes day, A lot of charities here, in Australia, and a lot of the women’s charities. They will movie nights, make up nights etc.

Do you have any suggestions?

Cyber Monday

Oh my Goodness there are so many things I actually don’t mind Australia taking one “thing” from American and that would be Black Friday and Cyber Monday…I cannot tell a lie…It is fantastic with all the deals that come out at this time of year. I usually know what presents I want to get for people and I do not go out to the shops at this time. Although a delivery cost is annoying, I really do feel like it’s worth it.

What I also wanted to write about though is what else we can do as a community to help others who are not fortunate during this times. There are so many different services out there that do help those and I wanted to write about what you can do also. I’m hopefully going to expand this to different countries, depending on what I can find.

Of course we all know that we can volunteer your time to help at volunteers and shelters. There are a large variety of these. You can also help families by setting donations, after all help doesn’t just have to stop at Christmas:

Wanting something to quench your thirst, what would you drink?

When I was younger (by that I mean about two years ago) I would drink whatever I thought it was I wanted to drink. Now that I’m a little older and wiser, if I feel thirsty, I’ll just have a bit of water instead and it does seem to work. You can feel the goodness as it goes down your throat.

Complete this sentence:  Never In My Life Have I….

This one has been so hard to answer because I can’t think of anything cool or interesting to write about. Never in my life have I done a live stream of a game, but it’s something that I really want to do. I just do not have the confidence to do it. At one point I thought that I could do “The Sims”, but then thought it would be too lame. Then recently I found a live stream who does The Sims, but they also create Sim like things at the same time. So who knows!

If you could be given any gift what would it be?

Common Sense for other people. I have recently taken myself off of nearly all of my social media accounts, except for Twitter. I can’t take it anymore. Even people who want equality, only seem to want it, if you fit into a box. People who say they fight for Free and Freedom while at the same time trying to condemn another group of people, and say they should be restricted. How people change a meaning of a word to suit them. All a lack of common sense.

What do you do if you can’t sleep at night? Do you count sheep, toss and turn, or get up and try to do something productive?

It honestly depends on why I can’t sleep. I have actually not been sleeping well this week because I was getting so angry at things I was reading on Instagram and Facebook. So I’ve stopped looking at those altogether…Not just before I go to sleep, but all the time at the moment…Sometimes it feels like I can’t think or do anything to get me too sleep. I worry a lot. In all honesty as well, sometimes having the tv on does help, especially if it’s a good show, it helps me concentrate on something else and not worry so much.

One week…

Isn’t it crazy that in one week it will all be over with? The stressing, the struggling to find and get people the presents that they actually wanted? The week before Christmas I always start freaking out, I don’t freak out on Christmas Eve as a lot of people seem to do. I think that’s mainly because if I’m not ready by Christmas Eve, I’m stuffed any-way.

Today I have a spent a lot of time today with enquiring why my packages are not here yet. My head has come very close to exploding as to why no one is getting back to me. But then I got my Christmas present for myself! That’s another thing I do every year, I always buy myself a little something. This year I bought a little Dragon from Little Fat Dragons and she is beautiful! These pictures do not justice to how gorgeous she is though.
