Get to Know the Blogger: 100 Questions No One Ever Asks Tag

hello-my-name-is

I found this Tag on Vrushali Blog (you should all go and have a look here) They found it on ChocolatenWaffles’s Blog. Please go and have a look at both of them. I am doing it a little differently, because there are 100 questions in all. I am going to be breaking it up into 4 different entries over the month of February (that would make it 25 questions each time).

So let’s begin!

  1. Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed? There’s a reason I do not watch scary movies before going to bed, and this is one of them. I can sleep with either the doors open or closed. Although I do tend to sleep with them closed, because if I can see the clothes in there, I may start thinking to myself to have a clean out. Actually I probably would.
  2. Do you take the shampoo or conditioner bottles from hotels? No, I have never done this. I have no problem with other people doing it, and I don’t stop them. I just don’t do it myself.
  3. Do you sleep with your sheets tucked in? I get too claustrophobic to sleep tucked into sheets. It’s actually one of the things I hate about sleeping in a hotel. They’ve gone to such a effort for my bed to be nice, that I don’t like to un-tuck them, lol
  4. Have you ever stolen a street sign before? Not really interested in stealing street signs.
  5. Do you like to use post-it notes? I do use them and I am honestly surprised that I don’t just have a notebook or something made out of post-it notes. Actually…That is a really AMAZING idea!
  6. Do you cut out coupons but never use them? Usually when I cut them out I use them.
  7. Would you rather be attacked by a bear or bees? I am allergic to Bees, so if they got me in the right spot, that could be deadly for me. So could a bear though!
  8. Do you have freckles? I do! My freckles are really odd as well, because 90% of them are in groups of three, in some way or another. I’ve got three in a triangle, three in a line, etc.
  9. Do you always smile for pictures? Depends, not all the time. It really does depend on the situation. It depends what it’s for.
  10. What is your biggest pet peeve?  I have a few, how do I number it to just one? The one that’s annoying me at the moment are people who just make insensitive and unnecessary cruel comments. Then get all mad when you call them out on it. I’ve gotten into a few fights who call other people ‘too’ sensitive and then when I’ve questioned, politely, why did they make the comment. They get SO upset. It’s like people really think they can say something horrible and everyone’s just going to agree with them?
  11. Do you ever count your steps when you walk? I only do when I think about it.
  12. Have you ever peed in the woods?  I have.
  13. What about pooped in the woods?   I haven’t, but if I REALLY had too (we all know what I mean) I would.
  14. Do you ever dance when there is no music playing?  Of course! I don’t know if it was because I was a professional dancer for a good half of my life, but I just find myself dancing in all sorts of places and situations.
  15. Do you chew your pens and pencils?  I haven’t for a really long time, I think the last time I did was possibly in High School, so that was just a little…a little…over a decade ago.
  16. How many people have you slept with? A lady never tells ~.^ Plus it’s still not “Alright” for me to have slept with anyone, according to the public, lol
  17. What size is your bed? My is a Queen…I think?
  18. What is your song of the week? In all honesty I don’t have a “song of the week” I have just been listening to my Beauty and the Beast soundtrack, over and over again.
  19. Is it okay for guys to wear pink? Of course it is and sometimes they even look better than girls in it! I personally think there somethings gorgeous about a man who has the confidence to wear pink.
  20. Do you still watch cartoons? Yes, and I will probably will for a very long time as well. There are some good cartoons out there and Disney/Pixar etc are all cartoons too.
  21. What’s your least favorite movie? I can’t think of a specific movie, but I am really not a fan of plain romance movies. I just find them boring and pretty predictable. I have never seen a Ryan Gosling movie! I even prefer those Sharknado movies over the romance movies, they give me a good laugh.
  22. Where would you bury hidden treasure if you had any? You think I’d tell you?
  23. What do you drink with dinner? It depends on the dinner and my mood sometimes. If it’s something more casual, generally a cool drink like water or a soft drink, maybe a juice. If it’s more fancy something alcoholic. Like I said though it can depend on my mood, if it’s been a rough day I may want something more alcoholic with my dinner.
  24. What do you dip a chicken nugget in? Barbecue sauce!
  25. What is your favorite food? Lasagna. It’s pretty much the only food I can eat when I don’t want to eat anything.

15 Bookish Facts about Me

After reading through the fascinating post written by the amazing Blogger Addlepates and book nerds (Go and check them out!) I decided to “steal” and write up my own list, especially after what I wrote with my last post last week about having a Reading Block. I went with 15 instead of 25 because I kept stopping and starting and realised this was about to post!lol

  1. I am yet to try out Kindles and e-readers. It’s not that I am totally against the idea, it’s more that I haven’t really gotten around to it. I’ve asked for one for Christmas and Birthday and nothing yet!
  2. Like my previous post suggests, I either read a lot or not at all. I can’t just seem to read a chapter or so. I either start and don’t stop, or I don’t start at all!
  3. I don’t really enjoy pure romance novels like “Mills and Boons”, but I would never discourage someone from reading them either.
  4. My Grandmother was a really good Library Manager and when I was little I used to visit her at the Library all the time and joined in all the holiday activities.
  5. I still have a lot of books from my childhood, but a lot of them are now in boxes. I still love pulling them out and reading them.
  6. Talking about childhood books, there’s always a couple of them I read every single year.
  7. I’ve just recently thanked everybody who bought me books when I was kid, they are expensive!
  8. I want more bookcases…Who doesn’t though!
  9. My favourite author is Jodi Picoult, I love the research she does and how she can write a story from every point of view.
  10. I once wrote a few episode ideas for a TV show based on a fantasy online role playing games I was playing at the time. Think X-Men Evolution. Except, instead of mutants, you had sorceress, elves, and humans, etc. I think it’s somewhere still in my house.
  11. Writing about writing, I currently have a book I’m writing for fun, based on a character I played in a game called Monster Hunter.
  12. I was the only Year 12 (Senior at High School) who understood what Shakespeare was talking about.
  13. I can enjoy a book and the movie adaption without hating the other. I can see them as their own work. Except for making Fili and Kili’s death all about Tauriel!!! I didn’t even mind her until that happened.
  14. I try to buy at least new three books a year. Which probably doesn’t sound like a lot, but I’ve got no space either. I very rarely throw any out.
  15.  I find that there is a book quote for every single thing in life. It’s one of the reasons I started “Weekly Random Literature Quotes”.

Just like Addlepates and Book Nerds, I am also going to tag the last five people who followed me. In no particular order:

So, let’s chat

Tell me about you

So, lets chat some time, over coffee maybe?

(No really, let’s chat some time)

As my Blog is expanding, it occurred to me that not too many of my readers know that much about myself. So I have found some questions, ones that I think are a good lucky top 7, so that you can get to know me a little better.

1. Are you named after anyone?

I am! I am named after the Hollywood Golden Age actress “Lauren Bacall

2. What’s the first thing you notice about people?

Honestly, the first thing I notice is their hair or what they may be wearing. It depends what stands out more at the time. I have noticed an increase in people getting crazy and more creative with the colour that runs through their hair and sometimes it can be with amazing results!

3. When was the last time you cried?

I have cried several times over the last week, but before that it honestly has been such a long time since I cried. I have a major frustration going on right now and it is affecting everything else in my life, but I have no control over it. I have been getting considerably less hours at work, which then, if I’m not getting paid, affects lots of other things. What’s making me the angriest is that it is clear “favourites” are being played in the situation here. It’s affecting my confidence badly as well. It upsets me because I work my butt off.

4. What’s your favourite cereal?

I don’t actually eat a lot of cereal for breakfast. I don’t usually have breakfast, other than a cup of coffee (I know, it’s bad!) Sometimes I will make myself a smoothie! If I do have cereal in my cupboards though it’s usually because I eat it throughout the day, kind of like a snack.

5. Can you cook?

I can, but it’s like my situation at work…No one believes in me. I can definitely cook though and every now and then I’ll get creative and experiment. I’m just not that “into” cooking. My major problem is everyone around me doesn’t like how slow I am, and like to point out every time I do something wrong. It definitely doesn’t help. Other people will literally will just grab whatever is in my hand and take over…But then tell me I don’t know how to cook.

6. How do you want people to feel when they read your words?

I hope when people read my words a sense of joy and hope. Even if my post is not a positive one. I believe every day we learn a new lesson, not just learn something new, but also a new lesson. Even if it’s something really small.

7. What does the meaning of this life, mean to you?

To me the meaning of life is to have as happy one as you, no matter the circumstances. Every body on this planet has a different story to tell. We’re kind of like snowflakes really, no two are the same.
