Focus

I refuse too focus on negative this week. I have PLENTY to be happy about.

  • A wedding
  • A kitten
  • The backyard is looking like, a backyard, lol And I can probably do something with it.
  • Blogging and the Bloggers here
  • I actually like my work and the people I work with.
  • I have a roof over my head and within reason, can do what I like.
  • My Dad seems to be getting better too. Which of course, great. I think he might actually be seeing someone about his alcoholism…Maybe, lol
  • Making this : – https://www.tastemade.com/recipes/earl-grey-tea-cakes
  • Making a home.
  • BECOMING A TWITCH AFFILIATE.

You don’t have to do it here, but I would like you to write a list of all the good things you can focus on.

Focus

I NEED to focus the rest of this week to be joyful and happy. There’s enough real life Halloween out there, I don’t need to bring you or me down with it.

So let’s start with something make believe and Halloween. Before I get too unhappy again, I can’t go out and celebrate Halloween this year. Only a couple of days after Halloween, Nov the 2nd I get my teeth out, so I can’t risk getting COVID. So I am going to start the celebrations with posting some selfies of myself of when I dressed up (in Australia) for Halloweenie.

Don’t believe the hype though, I am not that skinny anymore, lol … I have the tail still, lol

Focus

Over this next week, I am going to try and re-focus my mind.

Which means, over the next week I invite you … TOO MY MIND!!! Hahahaha.

It’s more, I like to write to get my thoughts out. What I thought I’d do this week though is too write here, on the blog. Not about more personal things, I’ll leave that to my journal. Just more things, how I can focus on things around the world. What I want to do is get my mind to remember the good things. The things worth fighting for.

It’s getting mentally tough out there. I need to sit and refocus. I am still blocked on Twitter, and I am so thankful. I know what I’m going to do when I get it back. I plan to really stay off of it still, but I will be making a “post”. Then I really wont be on there anymore.

I hope you enjoy the next week of posts, because a lot are about dreams and ideas I have to make the world better. Well, how I think so anyway.

Cheetahs make a comeback in India after 70 years

We keep getting stupider, lol

Oh my god, not all of us, obviously. We are completely getting stupider.

I am not going to go into too much information. But in Western Australia they decided to do the disastrously done task of sending juvenile offenders to stay with adults offenders. It’s been a disaster, obviously.

However, the article that I saw, I ended up creating an account just so I could report a lot of the comments on there. If being a heartless, soulless sociopath was arrestable. All of them, would have been. Anyways, I am not here to talk about that article and the truly terrible comments.

The comment that caught my eye and made me really LOL said and I quote “Well at least they can’t harm the tax payers anymore”.

What a bunch of idiots.

I’ve been keeping an eye on this story, because I find it utterly reprehensible that anyone would think it’s a good idea. You can only begin to imagine how bad it would be. On top of which, we don’t actually know what the juveniles even did. They were transferred because they wrecked their cells. Which I don’t get why they couldn’t just go and share with another juvenile offender. We don’t know though what their crimes are. And because they’re Indigenous juveniles too, they need to be handled differently.

What made me laugh about that comment though was. Do these people not understand, we still pay for jails and the people in them. These kids *warning here* have been trying to commit suicide. Whether or not you feel compassion for these juveniles, the tax payer is paying for their medical treatments, they might even possibly be getting therapy. Who do these people think pay for that? The Jail Fairy?

Which is why they also needs to be a bigger focus on rehab in prisons/jail. So people can be rehabbed, come back into society and THEN help “pay back” what they owe.

My Focus…Week 1

I now participate in a weekly blog challenge called “Nurture Thursday”. Last week the topic was called “Your Focus”

I decided to make a pledge of sorts and since then, every day I will be doing something that is going to take me somewhere and will record each day what I did that day.

Day 1: Started my exercise and diet to lower my cholesterol and I already feel fantastic! I have heard before that exercise can release endorphins…and I guess it’s true! It’ll be interesting to see tomorrow if I am hurting all over!

Day 2: I worked all day, and after that I got to go and see “Aladdin the Musical” So I didn’t have much time to do something…However, I say that. Yet, I haven’t been to the theatre in a few years and I was slightly anxious. I’m alright with movie cinemas, but they’re more roomy and they actually cold instead of warm. So I was anxious and you can leave a cinema anytime, theatre you can’t really manage to do that.

Day 3: We are voting today, I am really optimistic. A lot of Labor’s “stuff” just make sense. What’s more to do than vote for your Country? I also did my second lot of exercise. I have to do it every 3-4 days.

Day 4:...Well…Shit…There I said it. What upsets me the most is that it’s become more apparent that people voted for Liberals (Republicans for Americans) For either 1) They liked Shorten less? 2) They wanted to ‘own’ progressives. Either way, it’s completely immature. Need a packet of chips…But no! So I decided to sign off of social media for a few days. I went ahead in the afternoon and continued with my online studies. It’s for Health Administration. I think I’d make a good receptionist for a medical/dentist office.

Day 5: So I went and did another round of exercise (I’m supposed to do it 3-4 times a week). I’ve decided to increase the “reps” that I did every second time I do exercise. So I increased the amount this time. I did freak a little this morning, the cat was twitching a lot. I did not watch the last episode of GOT…today.

Day 6: I was called into work today, rather late. So I’m finding it hard to do anything today.

Day 7: After a hard night sleep, I got called into work all day. So while it’s annoying and it’s stopping me from doing stuff. There are still things I have looked into today. Self businesses, redbubble. Things I’ve been talking about forever. But finding out more about what is entailed. Like do I have to draw things, copyright. I actually have been at my mum’s the past two days, specifically because I thought I wasn’t working. So I could spend time with the family dog…and my mum…of course. But I’ve been working, so more money…Yay…But I’ve been trying not cry when I leave the house over guilt.

Direction

So if you read my recent goals (if you haven’t find the post here) I want to get my shop up and running. I’ve been working on it, but I’m looking at different things as well now, instead of just candles. The main reasons I wanted to focus on Candles was because not only do I love them, but the postage was also so expensive!

The problem I’ve been having is that there are SO many better candles out there and this is something that I have not even told my mum or my partner about. So I’ve been thinking about doing other things as well. So far, I’ve come up with things like cups/mugs, bookmarks etc. Accessories really, where I can put some of my own quotes on them. I’m just not a very good artist, so I’ve been working with the bare minimum.

So basically I have been a bit all over the place, and that is fine. I just wish…What we all probably wish…I was a millionaire, because then I would be able to get the stuff I want to get…

I am going on a little bit, aren’t I?!

Just another day…

I promised to myself that I wasn’t going to have a “conversation” with ‘gun nuts’ anymore…but I recently wrote a thread on Twitter, mainly because I am SO over people blaming the FBI and mental health…When their “leader” took away the ban that stopped mentally ill people from buying a gun in the first place.

It was ironic in a way as well because as I was tweeting with this guy…There was a news report of another teenager being arrested because they had brought a gun too school.

His repsonse was about how come the ban didn’t save the kids of Colorado, Sandy Hook…etc…My response:

Also this…I guess you can click and see the conversation: I also did mention the FACT that Trump STILL hasn’t put that ban back as well as continuing to dismantle the mental health system…Then I realised half way through… Maybe he’s placing the blame squarely on the FBI and does nothing to help with mental health…Because then the FBI might feel obligated to have to do a check on all the gun owners who have made threats towards the American people (which lets face it, is a lot…I mean I have seen literal Twitter accounts with memes saying if they try and take my guns away they’ll shoot those people)…Taking their focus away from the Russian Collusion…Clever boy!

How do you tell the difference between a young kid making threats and a grown ass woman making public threats and placing targets? Both have guns, both have access to guns, both made threats and placed targets. BOTH are upset because things aren’t going THEIR way.

What do you consider is the most perfect food for you? (It can be your favorite food to something extremely healthy.)

Lasagna…It’s literally saved my life. There was one point in my life were it was the only thing I could stomach, and it helped me gain weight back after losing so much. I got down to 95 pounds or 43 kilograms, so you can imagine how good lasagna was for me!lol

Are you focused on today or tomorrow?

I am pretty much a person who is focused on today. My partner and I actually have this joke where we say “Oh that’s future Lauren’s problem”. We’re both bad procrastinators, so that’s probably a reason why we take things day by day as well. Sometimes though you can’t worry about tomorrow, because there’s still not much that you can control.

If you could interview one of your great-great-great grandparents, who would it be (if you know their name) and what would you ask?

Too be honest I would love to interview any of them, they probably know even more of where my family line leads. I wouldn’t know where to begin!

What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

My dog has not been her usually sparkly self. She’s about 11 years old and she had to have some teeth taken out recently, it’s probably her biggest “operation” she had and she seemed to be recovering well. However it’s been about two weeks since she had it and she’s eating and everything, but just not 100%. It’s made me realise how much I love her and how much she’s done for me without her ever knowing! It was funny in a way because the same morning where both my Mum and I became concerned, when we came back from work she just seemed naturally herself again.

On the same day though one of my Mum’s work colleagues said that her dogs were acting the same. They were eating, but they just didn’t seem 100% percent. So maybe it’s just the changing weather or something? We’re heading towards Spring here and so far we keep having four seasons in one day, each day. It’s knocking us humans about, so why wouldn’t it for the animals?

Do we actually prefer negativity?

I am starting to believe that quiet a few people out there actually prefer negative, they want it, they need it…God knows why…I try to avoid at all costs…But I’m starting to wonder if we prefer negative over positive? I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately.

I went to write a review on Goodreads and I read the comments about the book I just read and I have to say I agreed with some of what they were saying. Some of them weren’t so nice and some were down right nasty and uncalled for. I realised that all the negative comments seemed to get all the most comments and likes.

Do these people not want people to read?

In my reviews I’m honest about what I thought was negative, but I don’t really give bad reviews and I definitely do not attack the author or people who are fans of the book. There was one reviewer who even admitted to not reading the book and had just read a few excerpts and she knew that she didn’t have to read it to know it was bad. That review had more likes than people who HAD read it and liked it. The irony was she became very offended when other people said that we shouldn’t take her review seriously because she didn’t even read the book. Then attacked all the other people and told them to stay off her review. Then said they were “hopeless fan-girls”. I did point out that Goodreads is actually a public forum and if people don’t agree or don’t like what she wrote that they have every right to tell her so.

Or the situation with Ed Sheeran being on Games of Thrones. I usually tape and watch it a couple of days later, so when I heard that Ed was terrible and it was the worst scene ever in the history of the show. I was expecting something truly terrible. When I realised the scene coming I braced myself for some terribleness (apparently that’s an actual word, lol). He sang a 30 second “diddly” and that was it…It was such a big nothingness. I kept waiting for the bad to happen…and nothing, he didn’t say another word. It was a good diddly too.

What about those Instagram, Facebook pages etc. That people create where all they do is “bash” on a celebrity? If you don’t like someone don’t watch, scroll past, don’t press the link. I’ve seen so many people, for example, hate on Kylie Jenners new show, by saying how boring or or how bad it is…But they watched it? I do genuinely believe that they don’t like her, but why are they watching the show? When I don’t like an artist or a show, I just don’t watch it. My life is hard enough without constantly concentrating on things that I don’t even like?lol

7 Random Things

I decided that I was going to try and focus on good things this week, so I thought that I’d start the week with focusing on 7 random things that I enjoy or make me happy. If you feel like sharing random things with us or what to do this yourself, please feel free to do as well, or if you share my happiness for the randomness, please share!

  1. Since I am hungry as I write this, it’d be a good idea to share with you a food that I love to combine. During Winter I love to combine mac and cheese with instant noodles (those noodles that take about 5 minutes to cook). It’s soooo good, probably extremely unhealthy though.
  2. So something I have learnt with social media, apart from not reading the comments. Check the “likes” instead…You will usually find that the positive out-ways the negative. So now I check those first =D There’s a lot of “love” emoticon out there!
  3. I LOVE fan made YouTube videos, especially when they make videos of couples that I really like together, or had never thought about before!
  4. I really enjoy having Fridays off, it’s an odd thing. I can work on a Saturday or Sunday and not “enjoy it” per-say but I’d rather have the Friday off. I just seem to get so much done, Whereas on the weekend I tend to have a habit, if I don’t have anything to do, I sit all day pretty much.
  5. I don’t actually like Family Guy. Other than Brian and Stewie, I could watch a show with just them in it.
  6. When I was younger I had three pet rats, Grezelda, Annie and Lucy. Annie and Lucy were sisters and we originally only got Lucy, but then she “disappeared” after a week. After about another week we went back, got her sister Annie, and I kid you not only about an hour after we got home, we found Lucy -.- With her rat food all stored in a pile, she must have been going back and forth during the night and getting in and out of the cage.
  7. I am a procrastinator, but something that I am even worse at is this. If there’s something I actually want to do, but other people keep bugging me to do it, I instantly go off of it. By bugging I mean, just ALWAYS.
