What to watch

I don’t know how many of you know this, but I am off of Facebook. Have been for a couple of months now and the only thing that I was really missing was “Red Table Talk” with Jada, Willow, and Gammy (Smith). That and knowing when people’s birthdays are.

So what can you watch, when you don’t really want go on Netflix, or you don’t want to watch the television. Just in case they pop in a picture of a dead child in there…You know those ads I’m talking bout! So I would really love to hear what you watch when you don’t really want to watch the “regular” stuff?

For myself, I have since found that I don’t need to have a Facebook account to watch Red Table Talk, which is great! The less time I spend on Facebook, the better off I will be. There a few channels on YouTube that I love to watch, and still do. However, the ads really annoy me. I get them, but they just bug me. I just don’t like ads, because I feel if I wanted what they were selling, I would have gone off and bought it already. We even have an ad right now, a badly made ad. It really does look like someone made it on PowerPoint. Adverting to give away free Bibles.

It is so dodge!

Even the email looks dodge.

That’s why I don’t like ads/commercials. You interrupted my viewing time for this! Those ads are being shown during prime time too. So how much did they pay for it?

At the moment, I still watch certain Facebook videos on pages that I like, you just can’t make comments. Which is fine with me.

I have started to listen to podcasts…So if you have a podcast, please let me/us know in the comments below!

With YouTube, I will watch videos (mainly music). If I can, I try to press “skip ads”. But it is really annoying, when you’re trying to listen to a video while doing something like “homework” and some commercial comes blaring on!

I still watch DVDs!

Isn’t it Weird

Over the weekend I saw the weirdest movie I have ever seen…But it was one of those films were you can’t look away either, because you want to know how it ends. No matter how bad or weird it may be…You just HAVE to know how it plays out and what happens too everyone.

The movie I am talking about is “Army of Darkness” (IMdB) . It’s a horror/comedy film that came out in 1992. This isn’t a review of that particular movie but it was just so odd and yet I found it enjoyable, even the ending had me cracking up, even when it was so obvious what was going to happen.

I would just like to know what odd movies or show would you recommend, that are completely terrible but we all just HAVE TO WATCH!

Put the blame where the blame lies

It’s time we stop blaming sports or entertainers for politics being involved. It’s the politicians who keep bringing it up! Kapernick had taken the knee for a while and was not a huge issue until the POTUS brought it up…The biggest issue with Macklemore was there weren’t Australian enough to perform at the Australian NRL Grand Final until Abbott made it an issue #puttheblamewheretheblamelies

I do sometimes wonder if these politicians are secretly wanting love to win or something? Abbott’s mentioned Macklemore and suddenly “Same Love” is number one on iTunes in Australia. Bernardi mentions #doitinadress and suddenly the causes gets more donations than it ever has before….Did I mention that Abbott and Bernardi said nothing flattering about either of these causes…Because they really didn’t.

Politics and Celebrity

I think of all the issues this year, this has been one of the biggest ones…People telling American Citizens, that they’re just a celebrity and they should “shut up”…While at the some time voting in a celebrity for President.

So why the big ho-ha?

Whether you are a celebrity or not, if you are ultimately an American citizen, you have just as right to speak as anyone else…

However I am of the opinion that just because you are a celebrity or an entertainer doesn’t mean you HAVE to speak out on political issues either. Most celebrities don’t start out for a career in entertainment to become a politician? Some just naturally veer that way and that’s fine, but some don’t and that’s fine too. Maybe they just genuinely feel like they don’t really understand what’s going on and don’t want to look the fool?

I don’t know when it become a pre-requisite for celebrities to have to speak about political issues? … Or any kind of issue … When did that happen exactly? Unless you have an actual conversation with that person, you don’t really understand where they are coming from. Some I think as well don’t bother as well because like the saying goes ”

“You can’t win the internet”.

I know from reading what other people have said about these celebrities. That even when they have said something or done something “good” or to speak out. They get called fake and not genuine. Let’s be honest here, you are a complete stranger to these celebrities and yet revel in their mistakes. It’s kind of  feels like a sickness. This is what I think of people who complain when a celebrity tries to do the right thing and they just continue to call them “fake” or something along those lines..It’s almost like they don’t want them to change and do the “right thing” by them.

Albert Insanity

I think sometimes people forget, celebrities are human too. I think each of them hope for success without really thinking of the “responsibility” that could possibly happen with the fame. I watch these “feuds” and how people take sides, complete strangers. They take it to such a level that I cannot understand. I remember the days when people just liked the entertainment. I just want to listen to the music again…Not the feud. Sure, people like Gary Glitter and Jimmy Saville should NEVER be played in any house ever again. It’s not up to a celebrity where I stand or what views I think they should take though, or how they should do it either.

Literally every single artist on this planet is not doing something right by some and is “God” to others…It’s almost like we’re all human and nothing is just black and white.

Twitching to Twitch

I finally thought of something to write about, something that is really quiet magical to myself and I hope that it becomes magical to you as well.

I call myself a “creeper twitcher” which basically means that I watch a lot of Twitch streaming…

What is Twitch, I hear you ask? (Maybe)

Twitch or Twitch tv is probably the leading platform when it games to live streaming gamers and their games. More than 45 millions…that’s million…gamer use Twitch to live stream their games and other related live gaming type entertainment. This can be anything for watching other people play, people who cosplay making their latest costumer to food and drink. Some people will just literally streaming themselves having a party.

I call myself a “creeper twitcher” because I watch quiet a few twitchers. Some are harder to watch than others just purely because of the time different. As I’ve mentioned before it is LIVE…So this means because we are watching people from all over the world, sometimes you do miss a favourite twitcher. However, there a couple of Australians I LOVE to watch and luckily, they like to Twitch a lot as well!

I have often thought about becoming a Twitcher myself, instead of just stalking everybody on it. I just do not have the guts to do it! I honestly feel like that people on the Twitch community are becoming celebrities on their right. A new media for celebrity maybe?

What about yourselves? Do you like to watch Twitch? Care to share who you are currently watching? Are you a creeper too?

Things I don’t understand…

*…Which I have to say is increasing, these things I don’t understand*

People who go into the Entertainment News section and complain about it not being “news”…When in literally every news-site and newspaper, there is global news…If you don’t like reading celebrity news, why are you reading celebrity news? Who put the gun to your head, that made you read that? I think you need to question those people, rather than the people who are writing about Celebrities and Entertainers in the Celebrity and Entertainment news section. Do they have trouble with understanding the differences between the news in each section?

It’s kind of like going to a clothing website and complaining how there’s no food on the website? Well, yeah, that’s the clothing section, not the food section.

OR/AND

People who complain about how unbiased a particular programme or channel is and YET keep watching expecting things to change, when they don’t have actually have to watch it. Yet, at the same time they don’t want to listen and change their minds, but they’re not being biased themselves? The weirdness of it all!

If you could have an endless supply of any food, what would you get?

It would have to be either Lasagna or Seafood, if I get to choose when I’m feeling that I need to be a bit healthier.

What is the worst thing you ate this last recently?

I think it was more a drink than food…I think, I’m not 100% sure. It was milk, but it was only out of date by one day. Something definitely upset my stomach though and it was the only thing that I had that was a little funny.

You are comfortable doing nothing? For long stretches of time?

It depends on what I “can’t” do. I can sometimes play the game “The Sims” for hours and not notice the time passing. Over the last couple of years though, and since I’ve hurt my leg, I can’t sit down and do nothing for hours. It makes my leg stiffen up.

List of Jobs You Think You Might Enjoy: Even if you aren’t thinking about a career change, it can be fun to think of other jobs you might enjoy.

Well I still actually have to get paid, but I am still hoping to get paid work as a Librarian. I think I would enjoy being an actor, I love to dress up and not be myself. I used to be on the stage for most of my life, doing ballet, drama and music…Then I grew up -.-

Civil War

One of my “birthday presents” over the weekend was to see Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War“.

Now I am going to start this off with saying that this will not have any spoilers in it. Even though there was a character in it that I thought hadn’t been mentioned in any of the other trailers, apparently they were. I had to rewatch the trailers and, yes, they were there but extremely briefly. I must have been literally blinking at the times this character was shown. Because of this though I am not going to talk about this character, just in case you missed the character as well.

I am going to start off with saying that I have actually never watched any of the other Captain America movies…Yes, I know it’s shocking and I was worried that I would have no idea what was going on. It wasn’t too bad though and I think this was something to do with it was a Avenger movie really, with just a really strong story focus on Captain America and more of his past. I honestly also believe that they kept Thor and the Hulk out of this one because it would then make it an Avengers movies. If they keep at least a couple of them out, then it’s not officially an Avengers movie?

It is a great movie, I don’t think we would have expected anything less. Captain America vs Iron Man…It’ll be interesting to see whose side viewers will take. I know I came out liking a totally different character to the one I liked before. Do be prepared for a lot of country and place switching though…One moment they’re in London, the next they’re in Switzerland or something.

Apart from that it was a really good movie, good explanation of how the Captain and Iron Man come to really hash it out. Some good motivation of future possible characters demise? There is also a lot more one-on-one fighting between the heroes rather than involving and destroying a whole city. Which is also a theme throughout the movie, the catalyst if you will for the whole set-up.

Spider”man”…Oh my goodness! He was fantastic! Much MUCH more likeable and much more realistic to believe that he’s a teenager rather than some moody 30 year old playing him. Much more innocence. I might actually go see his Spiderman movies.

4 out of 5 books…The constant switching of places around the world made me not able to settle in and get involve.

Stephen Fry

My mind had the most inspirational, mind expanding experience last night. A night that I think will live with me for probably the rest of my life. Last night we had the legendary Stephen Fry in town last and he was speaking on stage for an hour and a half (although it ended up going over the set time…No one was complaining though!). One of the great things that happened after I left that stadium, I actually genuinely felt smarter coming out of that place.

What an inspirational person! I highly recommend that if he is ever in your part of town I strongly recommend that you go out and get tickets.

To give you some clarification of why he was in town to begin with. This year, 40 years ago, we had an law passed that decriminalised homosexuality by our their Prime Minister Don Dunstan, an absolute legend for my state (please look at the link, there are not many politicians like him. As Stephen Fry said “He was years before his time”).

Last night was absolutely the most mind expanding night that I had ever had, it was interesting too because a lot of what he was saying, I’ve been thinking too. Clearly though Stephen Fry can say it much more eloquently than I can and he can definitely put forward a good and intelligent argument. He talked about everything from homosexuality, politics, terrorism, religion. There were a lot of interesting points that he made, for example, I always thought that he was just dead set against religion. Although he would say that he’s a Atheist, he thinks religion can actually be a good thing. Like a lot of people who actually read the religious texts, a lot of religions are based on love and acceptance. Anyone who tries to call another human being “Stupid” for what they do or do not believe in is “sick”.

I was personally blown away by this I have always felt like my atheist friends attack my religious friends far more than the other way around and it really bugs me. What is the difference? Not much really. I am what the term is “Agnostic” so I think there is something out there, I just don’t know what. I believe in Angels, etc.

Stephen Fry’s main focus was on homosexuality and that is where I learnt even more about Oscar Wilde. What a sad life indeed, if only he could have had a time lord as a friend, to see into the future. One cannot even believe that his life would have been as truly horrible as it was, had he been born today. Then again we would not have such classic novels.
