So, before the Easter long weekend my mum and I were talking about our favourite chocolates that we expected to get over the weekend. We have a local national chocolate company, that my mum and myself buy each other for Easter. Making sure we both get at least eggs we both like. Well, my mum got me pjs, that are cute, but not Haighs eggs, lol. I told her my least favourite chocolates are Lindt…Guess what I got all weekend, lol.
Luckily, my partner got me Subway cookies, I got him a doughnut and bought myself Haighs eggs, haha.
Even though it’s already out there, I am going to say next Easter. I really hate Haigh’s chocolate. Knowing full well, whatever is out there, already knows the truth, haha.
After all the real meaning of Easter is family, rebirth, death, chocolate, bunnies, food (haha).
So in the funnier things that are happening to me right now. Not sure how many of you have read that I am spending the next couple of weeks mostly alone. My partners going to see his family and I can’t go for two main reasons. One) The cat HAS to have these tablets that should stop seizures, but he is horrible at taking them, so we feel that part is unfair to ask someone to take care of him, when he have to fight him, lol. Two) I want to be around in case I get called into work, or get a job interview for another job. Trust me…I am heavily looking for somewhere new now.
Then my mum is going to visit my brother interstate and I am going to be looking after the family dog. Which is cool, she’s a chihuahua and even though she’s taking tablets as well, we can hide them in her food and she eats it.
The funny thing is I’m alone for about half of April, but everyone will be here for the Easter long weekend (I don’t know if the US and the UK take Friday, Sunday and Monday off, but we do in Australia). I’m thinking of baking!
What are some good Easter recipes? Do you have any traditional recipes?
Just a quick little message, in the past I usually write a whole blog post about hot cross bun day and all the different religions and tradition behind it. This year though, I just wanted to keep it light. I’m going to keep it light by asking:
What is your favourite Hot Cross Bun flavour? Is it (I can’t find polls!)
Please discuss in the comments!
Find some yummy recipes to make your own hot cross buns at Taste.com (Also if anyone could tell me where I can find polls, that would be great!)
I actually made this last week for an Heroes and Villains party I went to last week and I decided to put an “Easter theme spin” on it.
- Buy white bunny ears.
- Gather paintbrushes (I used a roll brush to do the majority of the painting).
- Gather red and black paint.
- Wrap cling wrap around the headband of the headband.
- Paint one ear black and one ear read (Try not press down to hard as paint will soak through…
- Wait for each ear to dry individually.
- Once both ears are painted and dry, unwrap cling wrap.
- Using a paintbrush fill in the white spots that you wish to cover up.
- Wait for paint to dry.
- Place on head =D
I know that Easter has passed, but I thought that this was a great quote! Very relevant for Easter and for the time afterwards.
During the weekend I went into numerous toy shops looking for a plush Hyena…I dressed up as Harley Quinn for an “Heroes and Villians” party over the weekend, so I thought that I would give an Easter twist to my Harley Quinn costume. I could not find a Hyena anywhere! They had Serval Cats (because I hear kids want them all the time) and some Wild Dogs (The number one Hyena enemy!)…But NO Hyena!
Anyways, while looking in one store, I came across this little treasure.
There was a whole bunch of them together, I didn’t get Belle because as you can see even just behind the Beast here, I have a lot of Belle.
I detract from my story. I was a little shocked to discover the name of the company and the stand that these figurines were all standing on. Why was I shocked you ask yourself? Well I was shocked because it wasn’t exactly the first name I would think of when thinking of Disney Figurines.
The company’s name you may ask? … Bullyland … by Paragon Toys. It was just a little bit of a shock, it’s a bit of weird name right? It wasn’t just me, was it?
I hope that you’ve been having a great Easter weekend!Happy Easter! I give you all cyber Easter Eggs.
Another Easter is here! As always we start off our Easter with Good Friday.
Good Friday is primarily a religious holiday, but is now celebrated worldwide and by many different people and background. Good Friday is significant as it commemorates the first day where is Jesus Christ is crucified against the cross at Calvary.
Here is Australia not only do people celebrate this day by visiting and having a Public Holiday, but it also the day were Hot Cross Buns (Taste.com.au) are consumed. I personally would have no problem eating these all year!
Which brings me to my real topic…We are having Easter Sunday at my house this year and I have to cook! I am really trying to find out some good Easter recipes.
I hope that you have all been having a really great Easter Weekend, and I am sorry if you had to work over it. I’m not sure about countries overseas, here in Australia though, we have the Friday, Sunday and Monday as Public Holidays, so it’s a nice long weekend.
Easter Monday (obviously) comes the day after Easter Sunday (or in my case, Happy Chocolate Day)…Easter Monday can also be known as “Bright Monday” or “Renewal Monday”. I kind of like those two names, it feels like you start the week brightly and renewed sense after not having such a long time off of work since around Christmas time. Of course you can take it in the literal sense of Jesus Christ coming back to life after three days.
What did you all do with your weekend? I hope it was sweet!
