International Day of Charity … (is not today)

The International Day of Charity is this Sunday, but I figure there is no harm about talking about it now. After all what is the point of finding out about it ON the day? Because then what can you do! You might have things planned and what’s the point. Also though, every day we should all practice a little charity.

Charity has a huge scope of what one can do.

The date of 5 September was chosen in order to commemorate the anniversary of the passing away of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, who received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 “for work undertaken in the struggle to overcome poverty and distress, which also constitute a threat to peace.”

So what can you do?

The great thing about charity, is that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to do it spread the Charity around.

  • Donate blood
  • Instead of going to those “fancy” stores – Choose a op shop or charity shop instead. They honestly do have some GREAT stuff. When I need new clothes, I go there first and so far, have never had to visit any “fancy” clothes store.
  • I would suggest considering making food for those who may need food in your neighborhood. However, I would research into what food they can actually eat first. You don’t make a lasagna, to find out that your neighbor is a vegetarian! lol
  • If you do want to do something for your neigbours, make sure that they even want it. I have a elderly neighbour and she is extremely independent. So she sometimes finds it a insult to be asked if she wants anything.
  • Again with the food, I’ve been seeing a lot of Afghan businesses helping the Afghan’s refugees coming into our country. My advice? Don’t wait until a horrible thing happens to help your communities, do it now, do it today. Get something going NOW, so when horrible things do happen. Life just keeps happening. Routine can help in a lot of situations.
  • If you have left over food, that you know you’ll never eat. Find out what centers are near you where you can drop some yummy food off. There are already charities that will send out food to those in need. Consider finding out if you can help in some way.
  • Be Kind to others. I wouldn’t call it “Charity”, but then again, you don’t know what strangers are going through. Heck, sometimes we don’t even know what we, ourselves, are going through.

Most importantly though, never do Charity to get a ego stroke. Never do charity to even get a “thank you” Do it, because it’s the right thing to do.

Share Your World…July Week 1

Share Your World…July 3, 2017

For your main meal do you prefer sweet and sour, hot and spicy, spicy and sweet, bitter, salty, bland or other?

I guess that I’d have to go with sweet and sour…One of my favourite dishes is sweet and sour pork =D I can’t handle spicy at all, I’m not very good with it. If something is too sweet or salty, I instantly feel unhealthy and so I’ll stop eating it. If it’s bland, it kind of feels like “What’s the point?”lol

Where do you hide junk when people come over?

Do I dare answer? Then everyone will know what I do! =Dlol … Sometimes and if I can, I hide things under my bed, mainly shoes though. I like to swap my shoes from Winter to Summer, so a lot of my shoes are all under my bed. The other place is in one of my cupboards, but it’s all right in the corner of the cupboard…A dark corner.

What daily habit would you like to introduce to your life?

I NEED to start meditating every day. I feel so much better after it and it helps a lot with my anxiety as well. I’m starting to learn a bit that I can only rely on myself.

If you were to perform in the circus, what would you do?

I would want to do the acrobatics and the trapeze and all that stuff, but I would honestly probably be the clown, lol.

Every Day

22. Something you use every day

Oh wow, the great thing about this post is that it really has made me more aware of what I actually do use every single day. The trouble that I had breaking down what “something” I use every day that I’m grateful for…and then it hit me…and it may seem really like an odd thing to be grateful for and that I use every day.

A good, well functioning toilet…

I can just see all of your faces reading this right now

Is there anything better though that we use every single day, that’s better than good functioning toilet? Not only do we use it every single day, but it’s also there for us on those not so good…I know I’ve basically hugged my toilet quiet a few times over the years, lied down next to it. It doesn’t judge you, it doesn’t make comments when you have to use it and it doesn’t make you feel ashamed no matter what happens too you.

You can “converse” with it for hours, it doesn’t mind, it doesn’t tell you leave and you generally feel better after you’ve used it. I’ve had to use some horrible toilets over the years, and I’m sure that some of you have had to as well, and I fell worse after using them. There is nothing better than a clean, well functioning toilet and we use that every single day.

Daily Post – Land of Confusion

Land of Confusion – Daily Prompt

My life IS a land of confusion, I rarely feel like I fit in, whatever I do never seems right. It’s never good enough. My mind is a constant land of confusion, whenever I think I’ve gotten it, I haven’t. Sometimes I used to feel really let down and out of it, and now, as I’ve gotten older, it’s mattering too me less and less. Sometimes I look at what is happening in the world and the prioritises and I think “Am I the only one who thinks this is lame?”

I always used to say that I was born in the wrong age, the wrong era, the wrong decade. I feel like this more and more each day.

My organised mess…

Sweeping Motions: Daily Post

What’s messier right now — your bedroom or you computer’s desktop (or your favorite device’s home screen)? Tell us how and why it got to that state.

Right this moment, they are probably just as messy as each other. Over the last year or so I have been getting rid of my “stuff”, giving it to charity, just getting rid of it all. Deleting old files, games I never play any-more. I could definitely say that both my rooms and my home screen are a bit of an “organised mess” at the moment. By that I mean, I see the clean and I know where everything is, but if someone else were to walk into my room, or see my home screen…They’d probably be wondering “What?”lol. Especially since I’ve just recently had my birthday, all the stuff I had gotten rid of, has now been replaced by all the new stuff I got for my birthday.

The Ultimate Fear Factor

The Ultimate Fear Factor

Daily Prompt – The Daily Post

People are afraid of all kinds of things: spiders, the dark, or being enclosed in small spaces. Tell us about your greatest fear — rational or irrational.

I am almost ashamed to admit this because it seems like such a silly fear to have. I have a fear of … *insert dun dun duuuuuuuuun music here* Octopuses! I am NOT kidding! I watched a program on them once and ever since I have these odd fear of them. If I start thinking about it, I cannot even sit on the toilet comfortably, I spend the entire time completely freaking out.

The program that I watched, demonstrated not only how intelligent they are, but also they can fit into any space, small pipes included. They are SO intelligent, it is crazy insane how smart they are. They are not only just smart but they know how to play us as well! They are evil I tell you! … Evil!
