The rest of the week

I started off the week with, I can’t believe this is the way the world is right now. It is, but it doesn’t mean we have to continue with ourselves being stupid. We can take the attitude and try to create a more positive state of world for ourselves and try our best for others.

After this post, all positive for the rest of the week.

Personally, I am spending more time off of Twitter. It was stupid before, but now it’s just getting, well honestly, pretty violent on there. Twitter are literally doing nothing to stop it. There are people on there (apart from Rowling) just saying b-shit. You know, even a couple of years ago, they eventually did something about Trump, and COVID? Well now, they’re doing nothing really. It’s not just Rowling, it’s a lot of people, especially those on the right, who are actually threatening people who have pronouns. And Twitter? Do not even delete the tweets.

How many more times do we need to find out that a mass murderer was really obviously on some spiral on Twitter? Andy Ngo is inspiring others to kill every day and what do Twitter do? Literally nothing. Then he gets all offended when a College Campus do not want him on their campus. Is he kidding? Not sorry, but people don’t like you Andy.

Then of course, while literally threatening to kill people for using pronouns. They use pronouns.

We use pronouns every single day. I can totally understand that using they/them may get confusing, when you’re brought up with only she/her or he/him. I am still getting it wrong, but to threaten to kill people?

Interesting Update: There was a YouGov poll that came out today, in the UK. I don’t know if it has anything to do with backlash against not banning trans people from conversion therapy. But the poll says that the majority of Tory MPs want the ban to cover trans people too. Not a HUGE majority, but a majority still the same

Thought it best to say it as I see it. The good news is that a recent @YouGov poll shows 58% of Tories DO want a ban for trans people & only 19% are against.

Thursday Conversations – Copyright

I heard about a Copyright drama on Twitter regarding the new Tolkien t.v. series, I didn’t actually see anything about it. But I thought I would write a little about Copyright and what I know and what I understand about. I studied to become a Librarian a few years ago, Copyright is a BIG issue and a complicated one.

It’s a complicated issue, mainly because it’s varies from country to country and format to format.

The main thing you need to know, is that as soon as you create something that is tangible (perceptible), it is automatically protected by copyright. Basically, as soon as you start to create, like writing a poem in a book, sketches in a art book, start to compose a song. As as you and other can “see it” it is automatically protect by copyright. You don’t need to apply for anything, although you absolutely can.

The other main thing to know that, which Country your work is created in. Your work will apply to that Countries Copyright Laws. It can beied together by a series of international agreements, ie the Berne Convention. The vast majority of countries recognise reciprocal rights in fellow treaty countries. 

Too make it a little more easier sense, I am going to use the current Tolkien t.v. series as an example.

• Currently, Amazon (US) only has some rights to the t.v. series of LotR series. They can not make changes to the movies or the Tolkien’s work.
• Amazon will be the producer in conjunction with the Tolkien Estate (UK) and The Tolkien Trust (UK), HarperCollins (UK/US) and New Line Cinema (US).
• You can give all rights and/or some rights to other people/companies.
• Exclusive worldwide rights to motion picture, merchandising, stage and other rights in certain literary works of J. R. R. Tolkien including The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings were sold by Tolkien himself to United Artists in 1969 and are currently owned by Middle-earth Enterprises (formerly Tolkien Enterprises), inc. Located in Berkeley, California.
• In 1976 United Artists sold most of their rights to Tolkien’s work to Saul Zaentz Company, who have licensed all subsequent authorized adaptations of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings through Middle-earth Enterprises. However United Artists retains the world distribution rights to film adaptations. These are currently exercised by their parent company MGM, which under contract co-financed The Hobbit film trilogy.

Like I said, it’s all complicated, lol.

A bit more about 2022

Well, maybe not the greatest of starts.

There must be something we’re all looking forward too though, in 2022? Personally, I am really looking forward to becoming a affiliate on Twitch. But I also want to get my partners spare room sorted out, and in the other create a little “escape” for myself. Until you know, baby makes 4…Hey, the cat is part of our family. I’m not saying I am pregnant, I’m saying if it happens. Then I can change my escape to babies room =D

Even though, it’s Summer here…I am also looking forward too the: lazy hot days where you lie around all day. Watching a favourite movie, and eating that favourite ice-cream. Taking off the bra, oh we know what I’m talking bout =D

Creative Tuesday

Let’s get creative! …

What I would love to do with this blog post, is talk about some of the creative creativeness I’ve been doing lately, and I would love for you to share anything that you maybe up too as well!

I don’t really know how many of you read my blog posts on a continuous level. However, every now and then I write about what my plans are for the future, just recently (I believe) I started to write about how I like to write things down and put them out in the public, so I end up doing them.

What this was mainly referring to was myself starting to learn to draw, which I am. I even bought myself a little sketch book.

Clearly one of my newest things is too stream, which you can watch my previous videos at my channel: Lady Lolsy – Twitch tv … Feel free to judge and critique, luckily I am really new so no huge views yet. I got my partner to watch and for some reason you can’t see my face when I play my games. Which at the moment is Sims 4.

I am also in the middle of making my cat a little house for outside, maybe for something inside too. My partner bought a new huge fancy tv, and the box is huge. While I have not much to do, I can do even more creative things.

I’m also doing my pen pals still. I’ll be trying to write them up and post them over the weekend.

I am one of those people, if I don’t write it down, if I don’t put it out there in the public it never gets done. I have been wanting to start to learn how to draw for a long time now. But I’m always finding a excuse not to start, but now I have little money to spend, but a lot of time. Why not start today?

See, that was the other thing, I was trying to think of writing a post here, right now. However, I couldn’t think of anything.

Last week, I did stream on Twitch. Because I wrote a post about how I was going to, rather than I would really like too and I did it. I nearly did it yesterday, but I was too busy…and see!!! I didn’t write down that I was going to do it, so I didn’t end up doing it!

QUESTIONS:

Pancakes, waffles or French Toast as your breakfast favorite? 

Without question, waffles. I love them all mind you, but if I had to chose, it’d be waffles. I wouldn’t be able to tell you why though. I like that just that little bit more though.

Do you think a person’s name influences the person they become?

I think to some extent it does. When you think about the amount of celebrities who change their name, that we know them by. So on some level it does. I also think they we feel not a social pressure, but a certain type of pressure to be like what you were named after. Myself, I was named after Lauren Bacall. Sometimes I feel I need to be a bit more cooler…At least I’m not named Karen at this time!

Would things get better or worse if humans focused on what was going well rather than what’s going wrong?

I do believe it would go better if we focused on more things that were going well. It just does your brain good. But not like the way Trump does it. He thinks everything he does, goes well. Don’t do “going well” like Trump.

Is math(s) something that humans created or something we discovered? Is looking at reality mathematically an accurate representation of how things work?

Maybe both?lol. I think it’s kind of hard to explain, as I would not call myself “mathematical” at all,lol. It does to an extent, it also depends though…Oh god, this is complicated in my mind. I know that I think maths does accurately represent how a lot of things work, but not everything…lol. As an example, they say music and maths are very similar. So somebody who can do maths well, can also play music. HOWEVER, does that mean that someone who can do maths, also represent how and why music makes us feel how we feel when we listen to a song that makes us feel … Oh dear god, I thought…ed!lol

GRATITUDE

What are you grateful for right now?   I realize it’s difficult to be very positive right now, unless one is being positive that things are pretty awful.   Let’s spread the joy in gratitude!! 

I am honestly grateful for the Blogging community, especially the people who read mine! I had to go away and you’re all still here! Still communicating with me, although at the moment it can feel somewhat of an overabundance of communication is happening right now. It’s good and positive communication. Even this question is positive. Despite knowing that it’s not a great time, the question asks us to think of something positive and so you do. So I ask anyone who may not do the questions this week, to read this and any other blogger whose done the questions this week and think of something joyful and positive!

I need some “Creating” help!

I need to find a good, but yet cheap photo-shop type program. I want to create some bookmarks (and some other ideas) and the programs that I have, are not very flexible. I need a program where I can create more patterns, just do more.

The Lolsy’s Library Shop Update

So I’m not sure how many of you are aware that I know have a website:

Lolsy’s Library

The major reason I started the website was because I was completely inspired  by crafts and creating something that I could sell. Something and ideas that were related to my Blog. I bought items to create candles and those little polymer clay figurines. Originally I had planned to have them all created and done by now.

However, I didn’t plan on the planning, that it wouldn’t be so easy to just up and create things. There are different types of polymer clay and of course the ones that I bought are all hard and are hard to use and mould. There is “soft polymer clay” however, which means now I am going to grab some of those, but they will still take a few days to get here. As for the candles, I need more equipment to create those. I need to go to an op shop and get some pots and pans. As well as more scents.

It’s not all going exactly to plan…Isn’t that life though!

Here’s what I need to do soon:

• Two pans to make the candles. Ones that can be damaged.
• Look into soft fimo…I haven’t really found any colours that excite me!
• Have to get the warning flame labels for the candles.
• Need to get better sculpting tools for the polymer clay. The ones I bought, half have broken already.

 

 

July Goals

This month is very much about getting things that I’ve gotten together and actually start using and creating with them!

• Get a Yoga Schedule – Focus mainly on strengthen my sciatica.
• Make a budget. I don’t know how but somehow even though my anxiety has lessened and I’ve been able to start catching buses again. Somehow I spent more money than when I’d caught taxis? Makes no sense!
• Create some healthy winter recipes.

CREATE!!!

I’m going to do it!

So this is how this works right, I let you know what I’m want to do…This way I cannot back out!

For YEARS now I have wanted to learn how to start drawing. In my head I am such a visual person and I LOVE to start getting some of my ides onto paper. Instead of getting someone else to draw them for me. As beaitiful as the drawings are, it would save me so much more money if I did it myself,lol

The other thing that did occur to myself over the weekend was this. I LOVE the little creations that Little Fat Dragons, Plush Like Creatures etc 

They make the cutest little creatures, but they are all overseas and a lot of the time not only are the expensive (but totally worth it)…but sometimes I miss the sales because of the time differences. I think they are mostly in the America areas…Why don’t I just start making my own?!

Yes funny dog meme…I am going to do it! I want and feel like I need to do this! You ever get your feeling, you’re supposed to be doing something? Well I am getting that feeling right now!

I feel good writing this and getting this out there…So i must be right?!
