The Comfort

The last week and bit I was fighting off a flu/cold. It seems to be going around here at the moment. Then the past weekend, because I hadn’t eaten heaps and then ate too much, and threw up.

Which means that the last couple of days, I’ve been trying to restrain myself to eat better and not as much.

The first food I had was chicken and corn soup. I have actually been craving it for a while now. My partner isn’t that interested in soup, and when he does its usually tomato. Which is completely fine, I like tomato too, but sometimes you need to have something different. My partner is more, he likes what he likes, which is fine. I’m more I need something different every now and then.

I would love to say as well that I made the chicken and corn soup from scratch. I did not though, it was canned soup. I do make though a lot of bakes, that I love as comfort food. So your pasta, chicken bakes etc. I just didn’t have the strength or patience to make it, haha. If I’m not sick, I’ll make it, have some that night and then more a couple of days later. You know, I am going to learn to make it from scratch.

Is there a comfort food you must have?

I should try some of these this Winter.

The comfort in comfort food

In the land “Down Under” we are supposed to be in the middle of Spring at the moment, but today is feeling a little bit like Winter…It’s all grey and windy and it keeps raining. So I decided to have some of my most favourite comfort food for lunch…Yes…I went there! I am posting on social media what I am having for lunch.

The funny thing was having a hot drink and a hot lunch, made me all sweaty. I regret nothing though! McCain Pizza Toasties (Australia) are amazing since my readers in the Northern Hemisphere are currently actually heading towards their cold Winters, these is an amazing comfort food! There so quick to make as well! 45 seconds in the microwave and heat up in the toaster, that’s it!

What is your favorite comfort snack food?

Definitely Nacho Cheese Dorito chips! Summer or Winter, they are my favourite!

If you had to spend one weekend alone in a single store but could remove nothing, which store would you pick? (except food or beverage)

Oh wow! I can’t remove anything? Maybe like a toy store then, so I could play with all the things but I wouldn’t really have a place to put them. So I could have play and then leave…Possibly leaving someone else to clean up the mess.

What was the largest city you have been to?  What is the one thing you remember most?

That would have to be between Arizona and Melbourne. They are both completely different but they are both different ways. Melbourne’s is mostly city and buildings (which are beautiful) but Arizona is mainly big due to their landscape.

Finish this sentence:  It has recently come to my attention that …. People these days appear to be a lot more “self-involved” then I remember them being. There is a lot more “I am right, you are wrong, no I will not discuss it”.

Winter Comfort Food!

It’s that time of the year where you suddenly your skinny jeans just don’t fit and you can just see that little tiny muffin top appearing and you have two choices eat that little bit of warm fudge or workout! Sometimes our best comfort foods are those that are really weird.

Take, for example, my favourite comfort Winter food that I only discovered a couple of years ago. I was so hungry and we didn’t have much to eat at the time (always the way two days before pay day). I had two options left for lunch, one was macaroni and cheese and two minute noodles. So I decided to put them together and it was one of the best things I have ever tasted! It was so good!

Food Porn!

You read that title right =P There is a page on Facebook that I just love and it’s called “Food Porn”.

This site has the most amazing pictures of the most delicious food that I have ever seen and it completely inspires me to cook and to try and put the foods together that they have. The only thing that I wish they had more of on this page is the actual recipes to some of these foods. However they do have a web page and I strongly recommend that if you have an interest in cooking and eating food you have a look.

I’m not if it’s just because down here it’s getting closer to Winter so I tend to start eating a lot more “comfort” food, but I liked the page ages ago and have liked their Twitter page.
