My LONG weekend at Grans

Haha, I was totally stressed out the whole time, but I survived. The biggest reason of course though, I was doing it, was to give my Mum and Aunt a bit of a few days without having to worry.

Problem with people with dementia, they like their routines. When I say “like” I mean they are really obsessive. Which I get. When I first offered to do it, I thought we’d go for a walk on the beach. It’ll be such fun … Ummm, noooooo…

I think I messed up her routine, by being here. The first thing that happened was I was woken up 5am with a bright light in my face and my Gran upsettably talking to my Aunt. According to my Mum and my Aunt, this doesn’t usually happen. The whole point was so that Aunt and Mum didn’t have to worry. Yet, I was worrying they were worrying, because she rang them several times that first day. I ended up being so stressed out, I really didn’t want to go for a walk on the beach, and we didn’t.

I am by nature, a very “worried” all the time kind of person.

Too the good carers out there….I freaking salute you!

May not agree with this…You get the general idea though =P…This random thought came about when someone asked me if I missed my ex-friends and I explained why I didn’t…Realising they hadn’t really ever been there for me, pretty much ever. It’s not hard to miss someone who was never there for you to being with!)

California Fires…continue…

This has been a rough year for wildfires here in Southern California and throughout much of the western United States. A few weeks ago, the Border Fire destroyed over 7,600 acres in southeast San Diego County. Fires can be devastating for both people and their pets. While it’s always important to have a disaster preparedness […]

I don’t “care”

There is something that really intrigues me and I would really love to hear your opinions on it or if you are one these people who do this, to please explain what this need this.

What is with this seemingly big NEED that some people have to write on news articles or ‘entertainment’ type articles about how they “don’t care” they have “real news to read” and is this article really “newsworthy”. What are they doing there then? Personally, when I see an article I’m not interested in I skip pass it. I actually asked someone this question because I find it really intriguing, that whole thought process. Of creating traffic for something you don’t care about, rather than creating traffic and focusing on the things you do. Then boasting about how you don’t care, like it’s some great feat and accomplishment that you just HAD to write that?

I am like 99% sure no one is making these people read these articles. So why are they even reading these articles for? Do they not have enough to care about? Do they have a lot of free time that they have the time to focus on things they don’t care about?

I have always said that the Kardashians are being kept in our public eye, not because of their fans, but because of their haters. They are making their numbers and money from their haters. For example, the amount of articles I have seen people comment and re-share articles about them is literally in the thousands…but…they “hate” them? Yet my brother and his friends seem to really like them, yet I rarely hear them talk about them. I only found that they like them last year, when my brother was over for a visit and there was a Kardashian marathon on the tv…We had to watch it all day -.-

For those who may not know what I mean by “traffic”. It means when you click on a article online, or you comment online, you are creating “traffic” that the website keeps tracks of to see, what people are interested in and what the public is talking about. They don’t care what you deem “newsworthy” or what “real news” is, or if you like the article or not. What they focus on is the numbers that each article receives. So by you “not caring” and clicking on a article you don’t “care” about, it creates interests and so that site will continue to talk about it.

Even take WordPress, how many of us have edited our Blogs and write about topics that interest people more than what we actually want to write about, based on the views, discussions and likes we have gotten for our posts.

Please discuss!

Yay! Mental Holidays!

The last couple of months I had full on weekends and this past weekend was going to be no different. I’m one of those people who feels like when I’ve been invited to something…I have to go or at least if I can’t go send something or get them something next time.

This weekend I said NO!lol

It was brilliant, it was amazing, it was exactly what I needed. Sometimes you just need a break, sometime you just need to turn into a hermit. It’s that time of year where I don’t think you “required” to attend everything, it’s too cold!

I am breaking out the wine tonight!

Here are some other links, for those days when you need a mental holiday:

Share Your World … Week 19

  1. You win a pet monkey but this isn’t just any old monkey. It can do one trick for you whenever you want from getting a pop out of the fridge to washing your hair. What would be the trick?Oh, my goodness, what a choice! It’d have to be something to do with when I suffer from my sciatica. It’s hard to get up and down. Maybe if they could just help me to get dress when I’m suffering from it? That would help so much! It gets really frustrating when I am used to getting dressed in 10 minutes and then it suddenly take 30 minutes with no warning.
  2. What caring thing are you going to do for yourself today? This might sound a little weird, I’m a casual where I work. So I don’t get set days, but I had a set work today. Sometimes the most caring thing I can do is go to work. I get money that helps me live not a rich life, but one where I can proudly help my family out with bills and food. Plus I am planning on having some junk food when I get home, lol
  3. What color do you feel most comfortable wearing?
I have to say that lately I have been wearing a lot of Red and it has been such a hit! I remember years ago somebody telling me that Red was my power colour and it’s definitely been proving itself worthwhile!
  4. Complete this sentence:  When I travel I love to….
Look at the scenery. It’s one of the reasons I want to travel to Rome and Greece, it’s on my bucket list to see all of their ancient travels! I take a lot of photos of the scenery of a place.

Reality Checks

Reality Check always come out of nowhere and they seem to always change your entire week and remind you of what is really important. I had one of those moments this week.

My dog suddenly became ill, for those who know. When I lost my last dog, she went suddenly too. She had never been sick, other than an upset stomach here and there, she lost some teeth along the way, but basically pretty healthy…Then in one week…She was gone, I had been in denial right up until the night before we had to put her down.

Although my other dog seems to be fine other than she’s had an issue with her “behind”. It’s the first time in a long time I’ve actually been worried. Just reminds you, I had all this stuff I was supposed to do and I have been watching her like a hawk to make sure she stays safe.

Just keeps you in check really =)
