Share Your World…November 13, 2017

Do you ever sit on a park bench for more than ten minutes?

I actually have been lately. I never used to, if I went for a walk I’d just … well … walk … Lately I’ve been sitting down and just watching the world go by. I’m lucky in that where my partner lives there’s a man-made pond park. All these different types of birds come to it and there’s a cafe looking out over it as well. All within a minutes walk. Lately, when the weather gets cooler in the evening, I got about a 40 minute walk which now includes sitting down for about 10 minutes and just sitting down and watching the birds do what they do.

When you lose electricity in a storm, do you light the candles, turn on the flashlight or use your cell phone for light?

We mainly use candles and our cell phones (mainly when we go to the toilet). Recently though I’ve bought battery operated candles and fans, because the last time we had a blackout. We got really warm and we didn’t have many candles. We were honestly nearly naked by the end, it just got so warm!

Would you rather be given $10,000 for your own use or $100,000 to give anonymously to strangers?

Oh no, this is really terrible of me, I would keep it for my own use. I might give a bit to a cause that I want to (probably some animal rescue place). I am not rich enough yet to give up that kind of money!

What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

Well we got the “Yes” vote for Same Sex Marriage this week…It has been amazing and I have seen little bits and changes towards there being more love in the world. Not just in Australia but all over the world. More people becoming aware of bad and good. Less people and companies putting up with hate and just plain remembering some plain common sense.

24 hours to Earth 2016

Just a little friendly reminder that in 24 hours exactly from now, it will be Earth Hour 2016. So how are you going to “celebrate” it? One of those most well known way to honour Earth Hour is to shut off all lights and all devices, and to sit in candle light. You can support it in your own way of course. As mentioned on the website it is best to use 100% beeswax and/or soy candles.

Earth Hour aims to encourage an interconnected global community to share the opportunities and challenges of creating a sustainable world. Below I have posted some links of sites and social media outlets, where you can take a look at some more information and see what you can do  to help.
