Twitter – When something is funny, but not funny at the same time

If you have a Twitter, you need to read this. I’m not 100% sure if you don’t have a Twitter you can read it. And in case you all missed it, Putin is on Rowling’s side…Do we REALLY need to say anymore.

How I “Cancel”…

I hear a lot about this “cancel culture”, which considering Rowling still filming her third film, Cosby got out and is suing people and Kevin Spacey is in a movie…Soooooo, who has even been “cancelled” again? No such thing as far as I’m concerned. However, with Epstein’s death, now THAT’S being cancelled!

Also, I hate hearing “cancel culture” as it seems to be mainly a white person thing. As usual white people can’t even come up with actually cancelling someone.

However, this is not a post to get into the mind or the theories about “cancel culture” (which isn’t even a real thing).

What do I do when I “cancel” someone?

  • You might notice that I don’t always mention names. As an example, there’s a certain ex-“reality” tv family, who name I don’t mention. The moment you do, you will find them coming up everywhere! I don’t search for them on FB, Twitter, Instagram. While I can’t always escape them. I definitely don’t get them as much on my feed as other people.
  • Say, I know someone who really loves HP (I could be talking about HP Sauce, you don’t know). May want something, or I see something that I know they would really love. I will only buy now, if I can get it secondhand. Some things I have found that, she who-shall-not-be-named, doesn’t actually own the rights to certain products anyway.
  • As an example, I lost all respect for Stephen Fry this year. So now I don’t watch QI, or anything with him in it. However, I LOVE QI, and although Sandy was my favourite before I lost respect for Fry. If someone wants to watch like QI with Fry in it, I still will, with not too much “gruff”. After all, Fry is not the only person on there.
  • Or take the recent death of Sean Lock, has made transphobic comments. Personally, I thought he was a okay comedian, to “dry” for myself, he was pretty sexist too. Instead of bringing these up, I just said nothing. No need to really. Was he a terrible human being? Maybe not. I didn’t know the guy personally, which was another reason. By the way these didn’t come up just after his death, people had mentioned these things, even over a decade ago.

Too cancel or not to cancel, that is the question…

How many of you have heard about the “cancel culture”. If you haven’t, it’s where some (usually well-known) says or does something appropriate and then every one wants to “cancel” them. I guess, it’s another way, the more “modern” way to say “boycott”.

But is the cancel culture going TOO far? Is it becoming detrimental? Where we can’t have ANY discussion?

Usually if I don’t like what someone has said or done, I back myself away from them until I feel like I am in a position to talk with them again. With the cancel culture though, it’s a in the moment type deal and then even if the person apologises or explains, it’s too late.

For myself, personally, there are just some people that I have never liked and will never liked. Justin Bieber comes to mind. He recently explained when he was younger all the drugs and stuff he was on because of the pressures of being a child star. Which I get, but I was confused. I don’t like who he is NOW.

Whereas, I’m not sure if you all heard of the #boysdance too? A reporter in Hollywood appeared to mock Prince George going to Ballet and there was an uproar. I was a dancer, for a good, half of my life and I was upset by what the reporter appeared to be doing. But then a few days later Justin from edailypop (check it out).  Who I completely respect said that he didn’t think that this reporter was mocking Prince George. That she was laughing because she thinking “good luck” trying to get a toddler to settle down to do the discipline that is needed for ballet. But now she’s having to apologise for something she didn’t even mean? Because who would believe her?

Which is a valid point.

Maybe it’s time to put on the brakes culture, lol.

…And you are CANCELLED Germaine Greer

I warn you…I got SO angry reading this article…Not only did Germaine Greer admit to hearing her friend getting raped and when her friend asked her about it, she said “Might have been”

NO MEANS NO…I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH!!!

Germaine Greer “heard friend being raped and ‘did nothing’.

She then goes on to insult ALL the Harvey Weinstein victims and the ones now coming out.

…And YES…If you are married, you can still be raped and can still be a rapist…That ring isn’t some kind of “get out of jail/rape free card”.

…The stupid of it all!

How is this still a thing?

So this is not only the title of a John Oliver segment on his show…But it’s all my first thought when I hear “Geordie Shore” has ANOTHER series coming.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, it’s very similar to shows like “Jersey Shore” in America…But unlike Jersey Shore, Geordie Shore…In my personal opinion, mind you, they are just so vile.

Chloe Ferry reportedly FIRED from Geordie Shore after ‘kicking new housemate Zahida Allen in the head’ … Who is watching these shows?

When I think of all the shows that have been cancelled after “A” season like “Firefly IMDb“…That is what is wrong with our society, lol
