The best advice…stay calm

*Kitty still not home, but trying to distract myself*

That’s it.

When it comes to COVID and Omicron, stay calm.

Listen to the health and medical experts. Don’t necessarily follow what journalists say. Don’t listen to the news. Consider what the politicians say, but take their information and then see what the health and experts say.

We were getting through COVID (well some of us), and we can get through Omicron too.

Radical, man!

  • Sanders isn’t the nominee,
  • He endorses Biden.
  • Trump IS President (whether we like it or not, or how he got there).
  • At the moment the American Green Party is going to get nowhere, and honestly, they are just wasted votes.
  • THIS time, there are only two parties – Democrats and Republicans.
  • No one wants a radical straight after Trump. They need calm before another storm.
  • Fact checking is not censoring someone.
  • You don’t leave people with much of a choice, other than to riot, when you never listen.
  • Whoever comes after Trump WILL have to clean up Trump’s mess.
  • There are literal Bible Quotes where God wants people to pray in private.

You need to calm down

Yes…I am stealing Taylor Swift songs title. I feel she brought out a simple, but easy song. By easy, I mean the message is so simple and it’s so true.

I was inspired to write this post when all across the news type board…So and so received backlash, this person received backlash, so did this one and this one as well. I miss the days where it was about good things. Where people were sensible with most things. I do blame social media. I take responsibility for this myself as well. I will also be the first to admit that it can get really tiring. Too the point you do want to turn the whole world and hug your furbabies. Which is okay to a point. If you’re giving yourself a mental attack, it’s time to officially stop for a bit.

Day by Day – Nurt Thurs

Nurture Thursday: Day By Day

(Did anyone else get that Day by Day song stuck in their heads…Or was it just me?)

Seems appropriate that this is the topic for Nurture Thursday, as this is exactly where I am at right now. It did all start with the sudden sickness of my dog, for a couple of days there it did become a literal hour by hour situation.

Sometimes that is all you can do, it take it step by step, and that’s okay. You should never make yourself try to run when you can’t even walk. … I hope that makes sense! The rain and the over bearing heat, wont last forever.

What household chore do you absolutely enjoy doing? (can be indoor or outdoor)

For myself it’s more about why I’m cleaning, if that makes any sense? If I’m cleaning for a reason (even if that reason is because the house is gross) then I enjoy it more. Generally I don’t really enjoy any of it. I do enjoy putting things back where there supposed to go, all tidy and clean. Like you make a bigger mess first before it’s tidy. I enjoy the part when it gets tidier…Basically I enjoy it when it’s done, lol.

Create a sentence with the words “neon green” and train”.

I wanted to travel in the neon green train along the Pacific train track.

Other than your cell phone what can you always be found with?

At the moment and since Christmas (other than my wallet). I can always be found with a fidget square. I’m not actually sure that it works, but whenever I use it, I definitely do not get worse! My partner was going to get me a spinner, but, and rightly so, thought that it’d be too boring for myself and wouldn’t distract me at all. So far, he’s been right. All the spinners seems to do is spin and the squares allow you to hide them in your pockets as well.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

I actually smiled at people unfriending me on Facebook this week. I’ve started to notice that when I write something positive or how happy I am. I lose someone, and you know what? Goodbye Felicia’s! My Facebook is not a place for you to feel better about yourself via my misery or to use to go and spy on me. I’m not sorry for starting to be genuinely happy with my lot in life. For the first time in a really long time, probably since my Grandfather died about 5-6 years ago. I am happy.

My thoughts to people who want to me to be unhappy, or are just jerks in general, or my happiness is boring to them.

Like peas in a pod…

As mentioned with my February Goals I mentioned how I was going to look into different types of Anxiety apps. This is my write up about what I found. I hope it helps someone else.

Calm: This is probably one of more popular phone apps which helps with anxiety. It comes with an average 4.6 rating. They do have quiet a selection half of which is free and unfortunately the rest you do have to pay for. I managed to find a few things that I found helpful to begin with. The unfortunate thing is that you can only go so far along. Then you have to end up paying for more things. I did enjoy the different types of sounds they had to offer. They had people read audio books as well, which I found nice. Especially the Stephen Fry reading!

Overall rating: I would say that it’s probably a 7/10 … It’s good if you’re looking for something that’s free to an extent. If you want to take it further you will struggle and that can get frustrating.

Atmosphere: I have personally really enjoyed using this one. The basic premise for this one is that you can select different types of sounds. I have been using the one as I fall asleep.  It’s just that though, it’s just sounds. There’s no mediation instruction or anxiety instructions. You can also put a timer on it as well, so it turns after a certain amount of time.

Overall rating: I would highly recommend this one if you need help sleeping. There is such a selection of music and background music.

MeditateBot: This is, I believe, a Facebook app…My first clue should have been “Bot” in the title. Too break it down, it sends you messages to your private Facebook messenger. Inspiring Quotes, healthy tips etc … However, it will just randomly send it to your messenger. Every time I went to put my wifi on I’d have 5 or 6 messages all different kinds.

Overall rating: I guess if you need a little “pick me up” the quotes and the little facts can help, but it wouldn’t be good in an “emergency”. Unlike sounds/voice as well you can’t really sit and listen to it.

*At the moment my personal favourite one is Atmosphere. I use it mainly to help me fall asleep. That’s when I start to have the most issues with my anxiety.*

Share Your World … Dec, Week 3, 2017

Share Your World

Share Your World – December 18, 2017

If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work?

It would definitely be for the yard work! The most I have ever done is water the garden, or replace water when I get flowers. I am really not a “green thumb” type person. Funny story, I was asking questions about herbs for someone else on Facebook. That year for Christmas everyone gave me presents that had to do with gardening, because they thought I had taken it up. I guess they didn’t believe me this time when I said “Asking for a friend”lol

If you were to move and your home came fully furnished with everything you ever wanted, list at least three things from your old house you wish to retain?

I am currently moving between my mums house and my partners.

My mums shower…Everyone loves our shower, I miss my showers when I stay over at my partners.

My Mums couch, it’s just such a comfy place to sleep on! We have all fallen asleep and slept on it many a night.

My own bed, I love the bed cover, the pillow covers and I just fall asleep so easily…It’s all about the sleeping for me!lol

What calms you down?

I find that it depends on the situation what helps me to feel more calm. At the moment I have been listening to Celtic Music. I’ve been sitting down at the man-made wetlands and just putting my iPod and listening to Celtic music. I swear I must have been there in a past life or something. Mainly at the moment I’ve been listening to “Celtic Woman”. Especially this song! Listen to it full volume!

Little Do You Know…

What can I say? One year ago today I went to meet someone who I was completely nervous to meet…and then a year later (well last night) I hear this song and I burst into tears … I met this amazing person a year ago when I was going through all this “bad stuff” and then here comes along this guy whose just so patient, genuinely caring, straight up “this is me” … Not knowing that he was dealing with someone who takes on everything, very close to her heart and it had finally broken into a million pieces and she very unsure that it was going to repair (and was extremely stubborn wanting to fix herself and not let anyone else to help her) The line that I can’t get out of my head is “”I’m trying to make it better piece by piece”…Thank you for showing what real love can do for a person. How it can make you brave and makes you flourish, it doesn’t make you hide from the world, how it shines all of your good qualities through, to make them even better, stronger and clearer. This is what love is supposed to be ❤

The month before the storm

So it’s one month until December…It may not exactly be a “storm” but December, Christmas month and last month of the year can get a little crazy!

November

So for the next month at least, I will be posting links to literary type pages that I think have good gifts for people that you might want to consider getting for your literary friends.
