Slight Blog Post Freak outs

I don’t know about anyone else, but I can usually have between 5-10 post all scheduled and ready to go. When that number starts to drop, I start to worry a little and then put pressure on myself to write a good post, ready to go. I felt like this all week last week, I was struggling to find inspiration. Over the weekend though, I managed to get the count back up again.

Do any of you get this feeling too? You just hit a blogging wall and that’s it. You can’t get it back there for a bit!

I cannot wait for next week! I am so busy every day next week. Not including all the fun stuff I will be doing after the busy stuff.

It’s going to be a quiet one

I have a feeling that this week might be a quiet Blogging week for myself. Not on purpose or anything or lack of trying. It’s just more that I always that find that week after Christmas, just before New Years, it’s a little bit tiring. You always need a couple of days to recover and then New Years is here.

I also got a 2018 planner for Christmas and I am SO excited about it! It’s got little stickers and everything for important dates!

Those Bloggers Blocks!

I have been having a horrible case of Bloggers Block. I wanted to write a Post every single day this week and positive posts at that! I am just so stuck!

I have been so determined to write nothing but positive posts for the next couple of weeks, but there is just so much bad out there…With a little dash of good. The tiniest dash, that gives you so much hope and then…sad…

So how do we cure this?

Well one solution is to not worry so much, worrying is only going to make it worse.

The Unattainable Woman — Rose Browning

This video (created by one of my favourite makeup artists on Youtube, Jordan Hanz) has been around for a couple of years, but it never fails to touch me so I thought I’d share its message. Women who are strong and ambitious are called bossy. Women who cry or show emotion are deemed weak. If a […]

September Goals … Tick or Not to Tick?

During September I decided that I was going to start making goals, regular goals. Ones that you can do every day. I also started to make more health orientated goals, but I will write about them separately.

My goals from September were:

  • I will write at one least one Blog post under my Category “Single in a small city”. I always have trouble with this category.

I managed to do this, I did really struggle to be honest. Then I found this amazing site! Read about it here at “The Swag“. Tick.

  • There are two books that I am reading at the same time…I will get through at least half of both of them and finish off at least one. The one that I finish I will write a review in October (can you believe one month from now it’ll be October!) for it. (Please see what I”m reading with my Goodreads profile)

I have been reading “Three Queens, Three Sisters” by Phillipa Gregory. I have also read “The Children of Hulrin” (you can press the above Goodreads link to see my progress.) I have completed the three Queens one, so be expecting a review of this soon! The J.R.R Tolkien one has been taking a while, I haven’t been able to just sit down and read this one like I have with the other. It has genuinely really great getting back into reading though as well. I found with the Three Queens once I picked it up, I had a hard time putting it down again. Tick.

  • Go through my dresses and get rid of at least 3-5 of them.

I didn’t end up doing this one, but I did end up going through this particular draw. It’s full of tiny jackets and my shorts and skirts. Some of which I had to put on to make sure that they even still fit. I think I got rid of at least 10 of them, so I think it evens out.

  • Head out to a movie and dinner with my partner. This is always an issue for me because of my anxiety issues. I tend to do better when we see a movie I actually want to see.

I knew that this one wasn’t going to happen! My partner is not only the biggest procrastinator of all time, but he’s also the biggest waster of time. All month he’s had other things to do, then plays his games and THEN he goes and do what he’s actually been supposed to be doing. Next week we can’t do it either, we’ll be three hours away from civilisation.

  • Not take Panadol (Ibuprofen) for one of the long trips (I have travel anxieties) and start taking my new natural medicine instead.

Unfortunately this one never ended up happening in the end. I have stopped taking them for drives that are short and very repetitive, which is a step in the right direction. It doesn’t help when your father is suddenly going in and out of hospital though, so your anxiety is all over the place. Unfortunately I did freeze when trying to get onto a bus. I do better when I can wind down a window and have the breeze in my face and the busses do not have them here.

  • I am going to start meditating at least twice a week.

I have actually been doing this one, but the funny thing about this one. Is that the very first time I got back into it. A freight train blasted it’s horn, my dog started barking at nothing, an aeroplane flew past and the birds became hysterical outside. Still managed to keep it all together though!

  • I also want to buy a daily planner. My plan is to get one of these this week!

Funnily enough I haven’t done this one. It just never seemed to happen and I don’t really know why.

  • I need to also work out a “planned” week off from all works that I go too. I need it!

I didn’t end up planning this week off…yet! The week that I had planned to take off, I suddenly was asked to work all these hours, and I realised it was because it was the first week of school holidays. So I might have to wait to until after the school holidays to have a week off.

Check my Blog tomorrow for my October Goals.

I was actually nominated for a Blog!

Thank you to Hot Shot Headlines for this nomination!

liebster-blog-awards-2

The Rules: Liebster Award

  • Thank the person who nominated you.
  • Answer the 11 questions they gave you.
  • Nominate 11 blogs.
  • Give them 11 questions to answer.

The Questions I Was Asked:

  • Are you excited for any particular movie this fall / winter?

I cannot WAIT for the new Thor movie. I have seen all of the Marvel movies and I love how they’ve all interconnected. This one looks like it just full of awesome stuff the whole time. I can’t wait to see what Dr Strange does either. I didn’t expect to love the Dr Strange, but it’s probably one of my favourites and now I can’t wait to see what he does in this movie!

  • If you could go anywhere to see the fall foliage, where would you go, and why?

I would love to go England, I have been there during the Summer. However, I would love to see all of that green turn that beautiful yellow, brown and oranges. It would be fantastic.

  • Is there a new TV show that you are excited to watch?

I can’t wait to see the new Will and Grace series!

  • Do you have any Halloween traditions?

Since I live in Australia, we don’t really have Halloween here as a traditions, but it is definitely growing in popularity. The one that I really do love though is pretty much all of it honestly, haha! I just really love the whole spirit of Halloween. The themed parties, the costumes…I’m not really a scary movie type person though.

  • Who are your three favorite authors, and why?

Jodi Picoult – I love how she writes about topics that are now and relevant. What I love the most though is the twist that she always has.

I might just write about two that I’ve written below about. My other two favourite authors are C.S. Lewis and J.R.R Tolkien. I love the fantasy and how well written they are. One way that I can tell that I am enjoying the book is I make believe myself as a character in the book. I enjoy the book that much I wish to be apart of the book as well. A little embarrassing to admit but true.

  • Is there a particular author that you want to meet in person?

There is actually two authors that I would have loved to have met, but they are both dead now. I would have loved to have met C.S. Lewis and J.R.R Tolkien. While there are modern authors that I would want to meet in persons. These two authors have taken my imagination to places of happiness I never thought possible. It would have been amazing to be a fly on the wall of these authors!

  • Design your perfect library / reading nook / reading spot.

Wow! This could be a whole post in itself.

  • Do you use your local library?

Not only do I use my local Library, but I am now working at it also.

  • Do you shop for books on Black Friday / Cyber Monday?

Once again, because I am not American we don’t really have in store Black Fridays and Cyber Monday. However, thanks to the wonder that is the Internet, we actually have now started to get Internet deals for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Which I always take advantage of!

  • When you celebrate holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, etc., what book or books do you pack when you travel?

Oh this is a good question. I usually will take a favourite or two. I tend to not take many books, because not only is it kind of rude to read when you’re with your family. Especially at Christmas though I tend to always get a new book.

  • What is your favorite book to read during the holiday season?

I enjoy reading any favourites that I might have lying around. As mentioned above those as well, I tend too read any new books that I may have purchased or received as a present. So I don’t really have a set book that I’ll read. I am hoping though to purchase a tablets, I think it’d be great when I visit my partners family over the holidays. They all live out in the middle of nowhere and all pretty much go to bed early. Last year I got food poisoning, luckily though my partner had downloaded some movies to this little laptop he has.

The next steps:

  • Nominate 11 blogs.
  • Give them 11 questions to answer.
  1. What is your favourite online bookstore to visit
  2. What is your favourite bookstore to physically visit?
  3. Please share with us what you are reading at the moment.
  4. Throw in a random question…If you could have any animal in the world, living or extinct…What animal would it be, and what name would you give it?
  5. Let us know about Bloggers that you like to watch on YouTube…or BookTube.
  6.  Who is your one of favourite “classic” author, and
  7. Who is a favourite “modern” author.
  8. Is there a series (book or tv) that everybody else loves that you just hate…Or just don’t get why people love it so much?
  9. Is there a character in a book you can relate to and why?
  10. If you could be in a character in any book or any movie or tv series, who and what would they be?
  11. Random Fact about yourself.

The 11 Nominations:

Now usually I don’t really nominate and suggest that is people want to do it, to please to do it and link back too me. Please free as usual, just linking back to myself. I have nominated some people though, because I’ve had an increase in both followers and following…and I would like to get to know you all better. As always as well, please do not feel obligated to do it.

Blog Ideas?

If you are a regular reader of mine, you have probably noticed that I don’t post a lot on weekends. I just really don’t have anything interesting to write on weekends, I also feel like this Blog is sort of what I enjoy doing the week. It helps get me through, once the weekend hits, even though being a casual worker and I can very really work on the weekend (just the Library, but I have no problem with them). I can usually really relax and not worry to much. Usually I use my weekends as well to write a lot of my more random Blogs.

I have been thinking lately that maybe I should start Blogging on the weekends, even if it’s something just a simple as write up of the week or what is coming up during the week. Not necessarily with myself personally, but any exciting days that are coming like the past weekend (for example). We had World Paperback Day, Ranger Day and Rain Day and I would have LOVED to have written something about that.

So be on the look out for even more posts!

The Big 500!

I’ve been keeping an eye on this post all week, in case things change a lot. Over the past weekend I realised that I know have 500 “followers” and I am stunned! Hence why I’ve been keeping an eye on this post and see if people dropped off…Haha

Nick At Nite GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

It is amazing to me that I honestly even have 1 follower, let alone 500…It’s amazing and it literally could not happen without every single one of you. I mean quite literally, it’s thanks to every single one of you. I don’t actually like calling you all “followers”, I personally prefer to call you readers. Followers seems very much like I’m a Goddess or something. Which I don’t mind thinking to stroke my own ego, but this is definitely not what people who read any post on WordPress are, we are readers.

I would like to take this moment to thank each and every single one of you for helping me get there. For those who don’t know when I started this, I started it as a school project and it’s just developed from them. It’s changed over the last couple of years and I’ve Incorporated more and more into the Blog, I’ve got my Twitter account connected.

Too be completely honest, I think I wouldn’t even do the writing I do now if I hadn’t have kept this up. Having the “responsibility” of a Blog means that I’m always thinking, always thinking of topics to talk/write about.  It helps me to keep motivated, and that wouldn’t also happen if I didn’t have readers who were reading.

500

How do you do it?

I was just thinking in the shower, as I do a lot, some of my greatest and most random thoughts happen in the shower…The one I had today was what do you do when you have a great thought for a Blog, but then have not much, or nothing to write down with? The only tool I can think of is having a little notebook in your bag at all time, or to have to “text” myself…What I’d really like to know though, do you have other suggestion?
