For Marla’s World!!!

Challenge for January 23, 2023

The challenge is:

Pick at least three bullets from the list of ten and write a poem, a story, sketch picture, show us pictures you’ve taken. You can use any variation on the word, and have a blast! Ping back so that I can read everyone’s contributions!!!

Coffee:

Pictures I’ve Taken and a little poem:

An ode to my Harley Quinn Cup

Ohhhh, thee Harley Quinn cup!

Many a cup of smooth coffee and tea, one had in thee,

Until tiny little terrors, with teeny tiny hands,

Took upeth the nerf gun.

Why didn’t they just shoot myeth, straight into my heart?

Little shards of red, black and white, scatter across the floor.

Like repeated stabs to thine heart.

Ohhhh, the Harley Quinn cup!

Scan:

(Poem)

Scan me, tell me what you see,

Do you see the girl you want me too be?

Do you see the heart, that maybe as big as a tree,

Do you see the brain that, dreams a thousand dreams.

Scan me, tell me what you see,

Do you see the soul that’s as wide as the sea?

A life that’s been from here to there, and around again,

Can you see the gentle hands that wants to heal the diseases beneath.

Scan me, tell me what you see,

Do you see the real me?

Sticky Tab:

(Story)

Sticky tabs are my favourite. They are so small and so handy and they go everywhere, and you can put them everywhere! I notebooks full of sticky tabs. I have sticky tabs “we missed you” messages. The more colours the better. You can never be disorganised with a sticky tab!

Thursday Theories – Oh, the irony

Oh, how the mighty idiots are starting to completely freak out. I cannot lie, it is a nice change.

I heard about the FBI raid while at work, and it was really funny. Because all the “news” articles” on my computer, mainly from Sky and Fox “news” were saying how the raid is actually a WIN for Trump. For a moment I was like “cuse you” Then I remember that my work computer had been updated. So the news that I read through my lunch break and had been reset.

Got rid of those.

It is hilarious too see the Republicans and the GOP react they way they have to the FBI raid, with NO sense of irony, whatsoever.

The Party that brings you “Blue Lives Matter” and constantly say that black men wouldn’t get shot, if they complied, now want to defund the blue lives, and don’t want too comply.

Let’s be honest here, not the first time they’ve behaved like this. I would be willing to bet that NOW they wish they had impeached Trump, because it’s all gonna come out now.

The Republican Party of now, have absolutely NO sense of reality. When I came back from work, I knew it. No one with a brain thought “This is a win for Trump”. No one with a brain thought that this was going to be a good thing to be weaponised against the Democrats in the next election. No one who has any sense of reality is thinking that, at all.

What? Taking the 5th Trump?

My Nominated Questions

What is your worst ever fashion disaster?

Oh my family know VERY well my worst ever fashion disaster, but it’s kind of annoying because I was helping build a dingy, I wasn’t really thinking “what pants go best with sanding?”. My situation went something like this with my brother and cousin paying me out.

The “leggings” that I was wearing at the time, were pretty baggy and they had all boat glue over them. I wasn’t there for a runway, I was there to help my Grandpa! For some reason, to this day, I know how horrible those pants were, but to this day. People wont let me forget it, but I don’t get why it was such a big deal?

What was your big dream as a child?

I wanted to do everything! I wanted to be a Fairy queen, I wanted to be a Ballerina, I wanted to be a hairdresser. What dream didn’t I have?

What was the worst thing you did at school?

I hate to admit this, I nearly killed or seriously injured a teacher, total accident! We were doing Archery, and the teacher was out looking in the field looking for the arrows we had already shot. I was not concentrating at all, I can’t even remember what we were talking about, but I just loaded up my bow and shot! Luckily it hit the board, and luckily the teacher was looking for the spare arrows, way out on the oval. But oh my goodness! I still live with the guilt.

Would you rather meet a ghost or an alien or Donald Trump?

The only reason I do not want to “meet” Trump is because then I would be in jail, for murder. I kid you not. I am over it and I’m not even American! I keep asking myself how do people like Dr Martin Luther King Jr, The Kennedy’s, John Lennon…Why do these good people end up being killed so young? Yet, we gotta put up with Trump.

I’d rather meet a ghost to be honest. Too think to be able to meet a spirit kind of fascinates me. I feel like meeting an alien might disappoint me, where as the thought of meeting a ghost makes me feel interested. If I could talk about them, what death is like, why are they still hanging around, what do they think of the world today…Even better!

Would you rather have lots of friends or one great friend?

Without a doubt one great friend. I have a learnt from the past, a good friend can make a lot of difference in your life.

If you could be one cartoon character who would it be?

Is Belle from Beauty and the Beast considered a cartoon? Harley Quinn and Rogue from X-Men seem really messed up honestly…Too much like myself, lol

Disney Beauty GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

What’s the funniest thing you have ever done?

I think just existing is funny to others. Not in a nasty way though honestly. I crack up one of my coworkers all the time, she thinks I am real posh because I say I am going to the “bathroom” instead of the toilet, lol. Like a proper young lady.

The rules of the Versatile Blogger Award are as follows:

1. If you are nominated, Congratulations you have been awarded the Versatile blogger award!

2. Thank the person who gave you the award and include a link to their blog.

3. Select 10 -15 blogs/bloggers (other numbers are allowed if you can’t count like myself) that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly.

4. Nominate those bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award.

5. Tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.

My Nominations

  1. This year, for my birthday, I am determined to go to our most well known beach town and watch the sunset. See, the problem is my birthday is in the beginning of Winter, well end of April. So the weather is always horrible around my birthday. I’m thinking of doing it a couple weeks earlier than usual.
  2. I have always wanted to move like Jackie Chan…But who doesn’t? I think it’s the closest we can get to superhero…ism.
  3. Speaking of superheroes one of my favourite anti-heroes is Harley Quinn, but I absolutely hate her “relationship” with the Joker. I really do detest it. I also realised though she’s the only favourite female character I like that is blonde. All the other female characters I like, are brunette. My other favourites are Rogue (80’s XMen tv series/comic…They ruined her in those movies!) Tifa Lockhart (FF7), Belle (Beauty and the Beast).
  4. I realised the other day that the entire time I have known my current partner, I’ve been sick. When I first met him, I had a sciatica, then that dissipated. Then I had my anxiety attack, then after a bit more of a longer while, that “went away”. It’s definitely not gone just ‘easier’. Now I’ve had this stomach thing, which apparently is just a bug and I’ve been getting better. But I’ve had that since I came off my anxiety tablets.
  5. I am always up for a Disney marathon. Though, that one probably isn’t really that shocking.

  2. Answer 11 questions that they asked you.
  3. Come up with 11 questions of your own.
  4. Tag 11 bloggers and don’t forget to let them know.

Thanking my nominator

I would like to thank Victorious Pages for my nomination. I am also honoured by the nomination, since they are WAY better than I am at Blogging. You should all definitely check them out! (They are also having a give away right now!)

MY QUESTIONS

  • Which is your Goodreads goal for 2019?

I think that I am going to stick with the same goals, that I had for 2018, which was 24. So two a month. I met my goals for this year and that was also with a few extra books that I did not included. Which is why I don’t want to change my goals for next year.

  • Which are your top 5 books of 2018 and why?

Circe – Madeline Miller

“Hunting Jack the Ripper” and “Hunting Prince Dracula” by Kerri Maniscolo

Lord of the Shadows – Cassandra Clare

Truly, Madly, Deeply – Liane Moriarty

Agatha Christie – Murder at the Vicarage

  • If you had to choose between reading your most anticipated release in 4 years from now or being spoiled but reading it tomorrow, what would you choose?

I would read it tomorrow…I don’t think I could wait fours years! Patience is a virtue, but when it comes to reading a favourite book. I have none, lol

  • If you could rewrite the ending of a book, which one would you choose and why?

I would rewrite the ending where Jem and Tessa end together. I hated the ending, it was like “Oh Will, is dead now. So we can be together”.

Not Safe For Work No GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

  • Which book disappointed you the most in 2018 and why?

Furyborn, I really did want to enjoy it more. However, I’d find that I’d become bored. Especially going back and forth between characters. I’d want to know more about one particular protagonist and then it’d swap to the other, it was to compacted.

  • If you had to choose between spending a weekend with the villains of your latest read or spending the rest of your days sicking the heroes of your all-time-favourite novel, which would you choose and why?

I’m not honestly sure what “sicking” means. However I would not want to spend any time with the Villain of my latest read.

  • What are your blog goals for 2019?

I am looking at WordPress to use for a platform for a small business, next year. I did not realise how easier it would be to use WordPress for that. I had created a whole website and it got so complicated. I am also hopeful that I would get too a thousand readers and beyond!

  • Which 2019 release do you wish you could read this Christmas?

I am highly anticipating the new Kerri Maniscolo, the reason I’m not anticipating the new Cassandra Clare? I am like 99.99% sure that I am getting her newest book for Christmas, so it’s not technically not coming out in 2019.

  • Kiss, Marry, Kill! From your latest read, which three characters would you choose?

I’ve only really just started reading “The Clockmaker’s Daughter” by Kate Morton, so I’ll go with “Hunting Prince Dracula”.

I would Kiss Daciana

I would Marry Mr Thomas Cresswell

I would Kill Anastacia

  • Name an author, a BookTuber and a BookBlogger you’d love to collaborate with in the future.

There are honestly so many! I wouldn’t know how to list them all. All the ones that I follow now, that’d be fantastic!

  • Finally, if you decided to write your own book, which would be its title?

It’d depend on the book to be honest, if it was about me, or if it was a fiction type book.

Anyone can feel free to do this one! You can either take Victorious Pages questions, or you can take them from my questions…Or mix them up! Just please make sure that you tag us in it.

Writing my Heart out  – Sunshine Blogger Award

Thank you to Writing my Heart out for the nomination (sorry it took so long!) You should really all go and have a read, because they are truly writing from their heart!

The Rules For Sunshine Blogger Award

  • Thank to the person that nominated you.
  • Link the post back to them.
  • Display the picture on your post.
  • Answer their questions.
  • Nominate 10 bloggers.
  • Provide 11 questions for your nominees.

My Questions

  1. Why do you write blogs?

When I first started, I wasn’t exactly sure why I was keeping up with it. Even now, I’m not sure. I have a very random Blog. I don’t seem to have a “type”. Whatever I’m writing though seems to be keeping people interested and they keep reading. I guess I’m writing as well to show people that you don’t to have a “set theme” either. Just writing to reach out and reach out to others, keeps me coming back. I have found the nicest people writing my Blog.

2. What are Top 5 lessons you’ve learned in your life?

  • If ANY relationship is not working well (toxic) for you anymore, no matter how long you’ve known the person. Speak with them first and if nothing changes, move on. It’s alright.
  • If you, also for any reasons, can’t work in your dream career. Make sure that the job you are in, you at least like the people you work with.
  • I believe dark times will reveal who you are, but also, those people around you too.
  • Furbabies ARE family, they can be so much better than humans. Animals in general, don’t underestimate them!
  • There will always be that one paragraph on your Word document that just will not format properly, like the rest!

3. Are you an Introvert or an Extrovert?

Oh definitely an Introvert, especially when I’m around people I don’t know or know that well. I explain myself like this: When I’m getting to know you or first meet you, I am a Fluttershy. When I know you well, I am Pinkie Pie. Yes, that is a My Little Pony reference.

4. Who’s your favourite Music band?

I don’t really have a favourite band, I just like what I like. I like everything from Enya, to Metallica, to Eminem (sometimes).

 5. What’s best book you’ve read & like to recommend others?

Oh gosh! This is a huge list to choose from! I might just choose from one that I’ve read from this year. I am still in love with “Circe” written by Madeline Miller. I love it so much I am going to ask for it for Christmas and if I don’t get I’ll buy it anyway.

6. What’s best life advice you ever got from someone?

It’s not really advice, it’s more of a “knowing”…Knowing that I’ve got help around me, I just need to reach out and ask.

 7. Name your favourite festival.

I haven’t gone to a musical festival in a couple of years, my favourite WAS Soundwave and I got to see Metallica…AMAZING!!! They actually had Linkin Park first and there were amazing too. However, I am a big Nerd. So I love all the “Cons”. I just wish I lived in America, so I could go to the San Diego one! It’s on the bucket list.

   8. Describe moment when you were proud of yourself.

Even though we ended up not being friends anymore. I am proud of myself that I stood up and told my “best friend” of half my life. That her boyfriend is abusive and a bully and she can do better. I think this was the third or fourth time they had broken up and when I heard he had pushed her while they were drunk, that was it. The ONLY thing I regret I have, was not to saying to her when she would say to me “I know you don’t like him” was “What is there too like?”.

9. Which is that one movie which has inspired you the most?

I’m not sure about inspired, but I guess I also do…lol…All of the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbits…It inspires me and with one simple quote…

SamWise

   10.  Are you a health conscious or a food freak?

Only when I have to be, if that makes any sense? This last and past year with everything that happened to myself and others in my life (My Dad had a triple bypass, a friend who is a year younger than I, had a heart attack etc) You do start to become more aware.

   11. If you have read my blogs , what’s your favourite blog written by me ?

I do read your Blogs! My favourite had to be Music: My escape This is mainly because I can relate to it so much.

My Questions to my Nominees

  1. If money was no object, what would you be doing on the first day? (Or I guess right now) Would you be working in your dream career?
  2. If it wasn’t completely morally (and sometimes illegally) wrong to keep a wild animal, which one would you want to keep?
  3. What would be your favourite Mythical pet to have?

Share Your World 17/09/18

Share Your World

Share Your World – 17-09-2018

Here’s Our Questions for This Week’s SYW:

What Is Your Favorite Beverage?  (for those who really dislike “favorite” questions, hey, time to time, one just pops in and will not be denied).

I go through phases where I’ll like and be almost obsessed with drinking just the one type of beverage. At the moment it’s Lemon, Lime and Bitters. I think it’s because it’s definitely (too me) a fun Spring type drink.

What Is Your Interpretation of ‘The Golden Rule”?  Are there ramifications to breaking it?

I believe that the “Golden Rule” means ultimately what you think of “how you treat others” is.  Do you believe in Karma, do you believe to treats others how you’d want to be treated, or does it not matter to you? I recently wrote a blog post about Karma and how you shouldn’t expect Karma to go the way you want.

Sunrise person or sunset person?

I am both…Although I have only seen the sunrise, maybe once or twice in my whole life. It’s funny because since I’ve had my anxiety attack I hate seeing the sun gone down now. I feel better when the sun is up.

Do people in modern society anthropomorphize animals too much?

I think we do, but I also think that it can’t be helped. Some of the videos on YouTube, they seem SO like us. I think it’s what gets animals into trouble as well though. Naive ones amongst us forget that they are animals. Even the pet dog and cat, they are still animals. With a whole bunch of different instincts and feelings.

and finally

What Were You Grateful For During the Past Week?

I’m grateful for all the sane people in my life, lol

I nominate to tag back to Acire’s original Amity Award post  so the origin is known about and the word spread.

Why did I start this blog?

Those who have been reading my Blog since the beginning (if any are still around). I actually started this Blog for a school project. I have met some honestly fantastic writers and people. Every single persons Blog I follow and read, every single Blog post that I have liked. It keeps me going. How my Heart Speaks

Friday Funday

The Rules …

1] Thank the nominator

Thank you so much! Life Lessons around the dinner table! I had so much fun doing this, it got dark there…But oh so much fun!

2] Answer Q1 – Q19

3] Nominate three bloggers of your choice and notify them.

4] Each selected blogger MUST answer 16 of the asked 19 questions, but also insert 3 new questions to make up the 19 compliment. Every time a new blogger is selected they MUST only answer 16 of the asked 19 questions as well as answer their own 3, and choose 3 new bloggers. Each time a new blogger sees the questionnaire it will be completely different to the next blogger along.

[Hint: delete three of the questions you don’t like or have no answer for and insert your own in its place]

5] Q20 & Q14  Must always remain intact.

The Questions:

1] Have you ever seen a show where there was no “ending”to the case, does that frustrate you?

Oh yes! I watch the Crime channel and there is nothing worse than getting invested in a show or someones murder. Then the show doesn’t end with anything happening…That’s the worst!

2] Do you believe in the “Slender Man”

No. I hate what’s happened to those people whose “friends” pretended about the Slender man though.

3] Have you ever had your tarot read?

I have…But I also can do them! But I’ve lost my Tarot Cards and I’m still looking for them.

4] What unsolved murder unsettled you the most?

Without a doubt, it has to be the “The Staircase Murder/s” It’s an interesting case, mainly because it’s so confusing! They made a whole documentary on it, I’ve watched it from start to finish. It’s such a mystery, even though Michael Peterson was arrested for the crime. The whole thing is “off”. I don’t really know how to describe it, because I don’t know how he was convicted. Yet, there’s something there. I want to know what happened!

5] Would you sleep inside a coffin underground for a night?

Oh Hell No!

6] What is your best detective series?

Homicide Hunter…Don’t know if that’s a “series”, but it’s about the real crimes investigated by Lt Kenda. It’s a great series! He’s one of the most successful Detectives of all time.

7] Is there a horror movie you simply could NEVER watch because of the advertising hype?

No,I don’t actually enjoy horror films at all, in fact. Usually though I also really hate hype. I tried to watch one of the “Saws”, I hid behind my hands. Then I went to the cinema with a few people, including my boyfriend to see “Hostel 2”. I nearly walked out when they killed the kid, I just didn’t watch the rest of it.

8] What is the worst nightmare you have ever experienced? – Describe.

I don’t think it’s the worst nightmare that I have ever experienced, but it’s the only one I keep remembering for some reason. I had it only the once and it has never repeated, it’s weird what we remember. It was all black and white, like an old films and it was just a huge snail eating me, alive. It’s one of the weirdest nightmares I’ve ever had and I’m sure it means something.

9] Do you believe dreams/nightmares represent something else?

I believe that they do most of the time. Sometimes it might just be of something that you watched just as you were falling asleep. I do believe they do, even my above nightmare, at the time, did actually represent something I was going through. It was funny because I was stressed out at the time and thought that the situation was taking a long time to resolve.

10] Would you agree to take part in a seance?

I would love too! I know that they have a bad wrap, but I would absolutely love to take part in one one day.

11] Of all the ways a person could commit murder which do you think is the worst? Why?

There are so many horrible ways to die. I think anything that is slow and painful is horrible. Being buried alive, bleeding out slowly.

12] If you were a detective investigating a murder what would your first steps be at the scene of a brutal death?

After watching Homicide Hunter, I would also scan the room without touching anything. See if there are clues to where the body was found, does it look like a struggle took place, was the house broken into or was the murderer let in? Speak with the first responding officers and double check to see if they have changed or who they have spoken with.

13] Hanging, Injection, guillotine or firing squad what would you prefer?

Guillotine. It’s the quickest.

14] Which 3 questions will you be deleting to add your own in?

1, 2 & 9.

15] Is there justice in the death penalty, or is it pointless?

Oh, this is a tricky question to answer. Sometimes, I think that yes, it can be justified. In fact, I know that some people facing the death penalty have asked for it. They know within themselves that they wont be rehabilitated. Yet, at the same time, they have people who have received the death penalty and they were found later to be innocent.

16] Do you look guilty?

No. I always look sweet and innocent! 🙂

17] If the purge was real, would you hide yourself in a bunker, or would you participate?

Honestly, it’d depend on how I am at the time.

18] Do you think victims of rape or abuse should have the right to murder their attacker?

This is another tough question! I don’t honestly think it would make them feel any better and what about the chance people have to learn and redeem themselves? They should always have a say in their sentences though.

19] What is the best way to test for a psychopath?

I’m not sure…Although I am sure that I have met a few!lol

20] The three bloggers you are nominating are?

Please feel free to do this one! It’s really fun, so I don’t want people to miss out! DO IT NOW!!!
