Disney Magic

So I found this series of pictures/memes on Facebook’s page Disney Memes (there’s a couple of these pages). Beauty and the Beast is probably my favourite Disney movie, but Lion King is a very close second. When I first watched the movie I was not aware of the whole history behind it, other than I got what it felt like not to fit in, like Belle. I recently wrote a post about how two people can the exact same thing and yet get treated completely differently (Find it here: Peas in a Pod)

These pictures are definitely an extension of that. Just recently for example, I had my 30th a couple of years ago and lot of people didn’t show up…Their reason? “We don’t dress up” Yet, just a couple of weeks this other person threw a costume party and ALL the people that used the excuse to me they weren’t coming to mine, went to this one AND dressed up. Still to my face are calling me a “friend”.

This group was probably the main reason I wanted to give up, not necessarily kill myself or anything, but becoming a Hermit was definitely a reality for me. I definitely like a monster and true friend would never make you feel like that. Belle has always been my favourite Disney princess because I can totally relate to her reality. I get called beautiful a lot and yet, have never fit in.

The Beauty within the Lion

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “A Storybook Day.”

There is actually two I would love to spend the day with. One would be Belle from “Beauty and the Beast” and the other would have to be Auslan from “Narnia”. The reason for Belle is mainly because with any fictional character in my life she is the one that I relate to the most and I would love to know more about her.
Auslan…Well a talking Lion who rules an entire world? What wouldn’t I want to know and ask him. As well as taking a ride! I was so jealous of Lucy and Susan.

Fashion Tips from Belle…OMD style

I have been noticing lately that my posts have been a little bit depressing, I hate being mad and sad, I really do hate it, but hey, I can’t be perfect 100% of the time =P Something about birthdays that make me depressed, it’s not the getting older part. It’s the way that I always feel like something is missing from my birthdays. Either I get a whole pile of presents that make me feel guilty because I look at them and go “Do you people know me at all?” and you have to do something with them…

Anyways, there is this site that I love called “Oh My Disney” http://blogs.disney.com/oh-my-disney/

I love this site, they have so many types of Blogs based all on everything Disney related. One I reently happened to stumble upon was Belle’s Fashion tips.

It is really quite interesting, it takes a look at all of Belle’s fashion style and what she wears, but the main emphasis being on “be yourself” wear your style, your way. Go and have a look!

Beauty and the Beast

This isn’t exactly “Friday” today and I apologise for the slackness in my blog posting this week.

On November the 22nd 1991 a little Disney film was released. A little film that would become one of Disney’s biggest successes ever and at the time the only Disney film nominated for a”Best Picture” Academy Award.

This film has my favourite Disney Princess in it, Belle has always be the Disney princess that I have been able to relate to the most. The song below really explains my entire life. Belle was one of my inspirations to become a Librarian. Others do definitely think that I am a Beauty, but definitely…”Odd”

Real Life Disney

This week has definitely been feeling like it has a magical type feeling behind it. What if i was to tell some truths behind some of the most famous Disney fairy-tales?

Beauty and the Beast

Beauty and the Beast is probably one of my most favourite Disney movies and Belle is my favourite Disney princess.

The “real life” is pretty accurate expect for a couple of little differences that don’t really make too much of a shocking difference. Belle’s father is actually extremely rich but is in extreme debt. The other major difference is that Belle has two stepsisters (not so much of a shocker in a fairytale)…The Beast allows Belle to go home as long as it is only for a week. Belle’s step-sisters try to keep Belle at home for longer than that in the hopes that the Beast will be so mad at her he will eat her alive!

The Lion King

It may not seem like such a stretch when you really think about it. “The Lion King” is apparently loosely based on the Williams Shakespeare play “Hamlet”. (The jealous brother wants to kill the King, comes up with a scrupulous plan and manages to unleash the plan, and the son wants revenge…Yeah…Think about it…).

Pinocchio

This one you will not see coming!

Pinocchio runs away as soon as he can walk, Gepetto is arrested after police believe that he is abusing Pinocchio and Pinocchio kills a talking cricket! Gepetto is eventually released and insists that Pinocchio goes to school. Pinocchio sells his texts books to attend the Great Marionette Theatre, encounters a fox and cat who to try to hang him and steal from him. Pinocchio does eventaully end up shaping up and becoming a real boy though.
