I Believe …

I was inspired to write this post, after the continual complaints of TERFS, Maya Forstater case says I can believe what I want. What they always seem to fail to remember, is that the Judge ALSO said that you can believe whatever you want, you’re just not allowed to harm people because of those beliefs.

You can’t control what people believe and think anyway…and to a extent.

You can believe that you (as a white person) are superior to POC, you just can’t harm and discriminate against them, because you believe that.

You can believe that (for some odd reason) Jewish people control the worlds money and everything else too, you just can’t harm and discriminate against them, because you believe that.

You can believe that being gay is a Sin, you just can’t harm and discriminate against them, because you believe that.

belief/bɪˈliːf/noun

  1. 1.an acceptance that something exists or is true, especially one without proof.”his belief in extraterrestrial life”
  2. 2.trust, faith, or confidence in (someone or something).

The point of my post today though, is to write about some of the “crazy” ‘beliefs’.

  • I don’t believe Trump is smart to organise a coup, but I think he knew about it.
  • I believe that whether or not it is fate, but I believe that Trump was meant to be President, to teach America and the rest of us lessons. Some people have chosen not educate themselves, but I do believe he was “fated” to be there…I’ll write a post about that later ~.^
  • I believe that you should all be into yourselves.
  • I believe that if were more “into ourselves” we wouldn’t have “reality stars” like the KuwtK
  • I do believe in spirits and souls, something other than just our bodies.

QUESTIONS:

Why do we have such trouble telling our loved ones that we love them?  Do you have that kind of communication issue with your loved ones?

Some I do and some I don’t. Some loved ones, I love them because they’re family, but I don’t necessarily like them. Some people like my brother we were really close, then in high school we drifted apart, but now we’ve come back together.

Above question inspired by this short, poignant blog post:

https://mitchteemley.com/2019/10/10/love-before-its-too-late-2/

Decorations for holidays?   Spirit lifters or pain in the butt?   Or a mix?

Oh definitely spirit lifters, but only when it’s not too early! Christmas is my favourite time of year, every year. But with the shops bringing Christmas into the shops, earlier each year. It’s weird how stressful it makes you feel. Like “Oh my goodness, I need too get all the Christmas shopping done right now”lol.

Do you donate to charities?  Of your time, do you feel money is the only true gift, or other?  (nod to Rory for this idea)

I donate to three different charities. But money isn’t the only thing you can do. There’s a lot you can do! You can volunteer (I guess that’s your time). Listening can be charity. There’s so many different ways to give.

Are you too superstitious or  have you ever played with a Ouija Board?

I’m superstitious to a point, I’m not going to start throwing salt over my shoulder…Maybe, lol. I kind of do want to play with an Ouija board, but I also don’t want too.

Getting to know the Blogger…Part 3

As I’ve mentioned before I have been breaking these questions up into 25 questions, I hope that you have been enjoying them! The last questions were a lot about driving and I don’t, so I hope that they weren’t too boring.

  1. Last time you got a portrait taken by a photographer?
It has been years since I had my portrait taken by a photographer, I think I may have even have been in high school, which was now over 10 years ago…Oh, that is terrifying.
  2. Do you think musicals are cheesy?
Musicals are my favourite! Apart from Fantasies like LotR, musicals are my favourite types of movie. When I get a rare and rarer night to myself I love to get some “good” food and drink and I will put one of the musicals on.
  3. Is Christmas stressful?
For me it’s stressful in terms of finding people decent presents. However, I have come up with a “system” of sorts that starts in June. I start putting money away in June and then start getting little presents around September. I choose September because that’s the last major birthday for me. Christmas isn’t usually stressful for me, because I enjoy it. This years Christmas will be sad for me though because I wont be spending it with my family, I’ll be spending it with my partners family. Who live a really long way away, so I wont be able to spend anytime with them. It’ll only be the second time in my life that I’ve spent a Christmas away from my family.
  4. Ever eat a Pierogi?
    TOO THE GOOGLE! So…No,lol
  5. Favorite type of fruit pie?
It’s got to be a Apple Pie…Especially on a cold winter with a whole lot of custard.
  6. Occupations you wanted to be when you were a kid?
I wanted to be either a Ballerina or a Fairy Queen…I am not even kidding, I had the whole “how to become a Fairy Queen” gig all worked out. Sometimes I also wanted to be a hairdresser, but that was more to do with others people wanting me too, because my hair was just so long.
  7. Do you believe in ghosts?
I think that they are out there, I haven’t had any personal experience. There’s a few people I know though that both believe and don’t believe that they’ve had encounters.
  8. Ever had a deja-vu feeling?
I get it quiet a lot actually, but I just tell myself most of the time that I am being silly.
  9. Take a vitamin daily?
I don’t, but I probably should and I have been thinking about it a lot lately. Mostly trying to figure out what I might need to start taking.
  10. Wear slippers?
I wear them quiet a lot actually, my feet get really cold, they can even get really cold during Summer. I am always being told that I have really bad circulation in my feet all the time. I am aware of this. Most of the time if I’m not wearing slippers, I will be wearing socks at least.
  11. Wear a bath robe?
I do, I already have two. One is at my house and the other is at my partners house and I am already thinking of getting one that is Harley Quinn related.
  12. What do you wear to bed?
It depends who I’m with, what time of year and if there are other people in the house. If it’s just my partner and myself I usually wear one of his t-shirts and not much else, except in Winter where I’ll pants and socks. If other people are in the house, I’ll be fully clothes or wear a long night-gown.
  13. First concert?
I think from memory, that my first concert was a 5ive concert and we didn’t have the greatest of seats, but even so, the atmosphere was awesome!
  14. Wal-Mart, Target or K-Mart?
It would have to be between Target and K-Mart, we don’t have Walmart in Australia. They might somewhere like Sydney, but I don’t think so. K-Mart has such a great variety and it usually is very cost effective. Target has more expensive things but they clothing is supposedly of more quality. Generally I’ll go to K-Mart, but for good quality work clothing I’ll go to Target.
  15. Nike or Adidas?
I don’t mind really, I haven’t bought either for a really long time.
  16. Cheetos or Fritos?
I have never actually had Fritos before, so I’d have to go with Cheetos.
  17. Peanuts or Sunflower seeds?
Peanuts, mainly the honey roasted peanuts…So good.
  18. Ever heard of the group Tres Bien?
I thought it was just a French saying >.<
  19. Ever take dance lessons?
Yes, half of my life was going to dance lessons. I miss it a lot, I only really quit because the competition to get main parts started to turn nasty.
  20. Is there a profession you picture your future spouse doing?
Well, whatever makes him happy really.
  21. Can you curl your tongue?
I can roll my tongue in half, but I can’t make any special “rose” petal shapes or anything like that.
  22. Ever won a spelling bee?
As far as I am aware we don’t even have spelling bees here.
  23. Have you ever cried because you were so happy?
Of course. It’s very rare though, but I definitely do. It usually also involves animals getting rescued, or something like that.
  24. Own any record albums?
I’ve never really had any, but I’m looking into getting one, just cause I think it’d be cool to have one.
  25. 75. Own a record player? I have never owned one myself, but I can remember having one when I was little. I think that my Dad may still actually still have it.

World Religion Day

Usually I don’t post on the weekends unless something really amazing happens to me, or is going to happen to me. Now I am not even a religious person, but I am what is called an “Agnostic”. Which means I believe there is something out there, may not be “God” or “Gods/Goddesses”, but something else as well. Now this day is not a Public Holiday so all the shops will be open today and this day is always held on the third Sunday in the month of January.

Many organizations celebrate the day by holding interfaith events where faith leaders get together to give talks and lectures. People are encouraged to talk to and listen to people from faiths different than their own and to understand the basic tenets of other religions.

Religion is SUCH  hot topic these days. I just think we should “observe” this day. We have millions of people who have some kind of Faith and I don’t know about everyone else, but I am tired of everyone trying to make everyone else trying to be the “true religion”. Humans Beings are inherently different, the chance of you being exactly like someone else, even with identical twins, is very highly unlikely.

The third Sunday in January is annually celebrated as World Religion Day. It was established by the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of the United States in 1950 as a way to encourage interfaith understanding.

I believe that Religion while it definitely does damage, especially when it’s in the wrong hands. Can do just as much good, and this is what I am fighting for, I have seen it. I don’t think that it’s going to ever happen in my lifetime, but I believe it will eventually happen.

Wannabe

One of my triggers was set off a few days ago…and I am so over it! It all started when I saw this Twitter post by Emily Ratajkowski and you would think by now I would have learnt by now to NOT read the comments.

https://twitter.com/emrata/status/775455798487023616

I could not control myself! I kind of lost it with one commenter and I swear this is what they posted:

“You’re a pathetic Kardashian wannabe, . Couldn’t pick a classier role model to follow? Feminism has nothing to do with being a slut.”

First of all, I cannot STAND women who do that to another women. What we wear has nothing to do with us being a slut or not, I also really just hate that word in general. It sure as hell does not mean someone is less of a feminist because of their clothing. However, calling another woman a “slut” for what she wears, is NOT feminism and gives the rest of us a bad name.

I don’t understand how someone can call themselves a feminist and in the same 140 characters, call another a woman a slut? I posted the apparent “offending” dress which a lot of people decided was inappropriate? I don’t think that it’s any shocking than anything else I’ve ever seen before.

emily

Also from my own personal point of view, Feminism IS about “being a slut” Being a feminist to me, is about being equal to men, which includes women being able to sleep with whoever they want, wear whatever they want, WITHOUT being persecuted. Isn’t that kind of the point?

Share Your World … Week 37

Share Your World … Week 37

(I’m just warning you all, this ones a bit long!)

Have you ever owned a rock, pet rock, or gem that is not jewellery?

I don’t think that I have really ever owned a pet rock or jem that is Jewellery. I do remember once someone giving me a very pretty rock that was painted beautifully, but I never considered it to be a pet. I had a lot of plush toys, so I never really needed a rock pet, I guess?

What is your greatest strength or weakness?

Strength – A lot of people say that I am one of those people who is just there for others. I think it’s one of my strengths, sometimes I don’t even realise how weird it is how I’m there for people. One particular situation that stood out was after I broke up with an ex, there were all these girls who thought he was going to date them…And he didn’t, and they all came to me, trying to hurt me initially I guess, to get back at him? I managed to turn it around and ended up being their friend. I felt kind of bad for them really, he cheated on me with all these girls, but he also clearly made them feel like they were “the one”. He didn’t seem to really care how much he had led them on either. I helped them and I was over him before they were.

Weakness – As strong as I feel these days and I feel I can stand more on my own when it comes to my point of views and beliefs. I wish I just didn’t have so many “triggers”! There are some topics, especially on Facebook where I still get really wound up and get emotional with people and their comments, instead of just ignoring it. I recently unliked a page because of their refusal to even acknowledge, that men do in fact suffer from family and domestic violence.

What makes you feel grounded?

Spending some times with my furbabies, they just want love really…Except for the cat, sometimes he just want food and for me to let him in and out of the house (we rent, so we can’t put in a cat flap). Other then them, I love having a shower and/or bath and listen to music that takes me away, like Enya, anything Celtic, anything “mythical”, if that is even a music genre, lol.

Would you rather never be able to eat warm food or never be able to eat cold food?

I think I would rather not eat cold food again, although a lot of salads are “cold”…Or are they more neutral? I love having hot food during Winter, it makes me feel warm on the inside, which then radiates through the rest of me. Whereas I don’t really feel like that with cold food, except for maybe ice blocks/ice cream.

Yes … I took and take natural medicine!

Yes, I have been taking natural medicine to help with my leg, and it’s been working. Apparently this must be all a “placebo” affect though because I really wanted it to work. Apparently I didn’t want my “Western” medicine to work because I loved walking around in pain?

This has become a big issue for me apparently. I am a big believer in using both western and eastern medicines both together as they both have great benefits. I strongly believe that they both cannot work without the other. Some people I know are under the impression that when I went to my naturopath I was only feeling the benefits because I “really wanted it too work”. As opposed to the 3-4 months I was trying to get Doctors to give me medicines that wouldn’t just temporarily fix the pain, but get rid of the problem all together. During those months I mustn’t have wanted to get rid of the pain that badly? I am a masochist, without even realising and not even wanting to be one.

Silly people.

The most frustrating people I despise meeting are the ones who don’t like something or haven’t even tried a particular something, but judge it, and call themselves “open-minded”. While putting you down for using something when it has indeed worked for you.

It’s the most magical time of the year…

It seems appropriate to talk about the most famous person at this time of year. If you go to Google at the moment, there is a tracker that you can view and it tells you how long it will be until Santa visits.

Whatever you might call him, I think we can all agree that this time is not only a magical time but is also a completely insane time of year. That last couple of days before the big day.

I actually got into a fight recently though for someone who is a “atheist” calling parents ‘stupid’ for letting their children believe in Santa. I normally try to stay out of “belief” type debates, but that one really mad me angry.

I think ANY type of extremist attitude is not alright. There is nothing stupid for letting children believe in Santa Claus, especially around Christmas. I think it is much more important to bring up children to be decent adults. What someone believes in does not for one second make someone bad or good and definitely does not make someone “stupid”. In every “belief/non-belief” system there is always going to be extremist who thinks that they are better than the rest.

The recent events in Sydney made me really realise this, most religions are based on loved for each other. They are definitely not based on what the extremists promote. I think that there’s nothing wrong with that? What’s wrong with telling people to love each other? If faith gets you through the day, I don’t understand why, quiet frankly, it’s anyone else’s business? It does make me laugh though how, I would call myself an “Agnostic” I have to constantly point out to my religious and atheist friends how similar they really are.

I just hate it when they bring Father Christmas into it…That is not cool!

Here as an extra bonus is a video that I found funny Santa fails:
