The rest of the week

I started off the week with, I can’t believe this is the way the world is right now. It is, but it doesn’t mean we have to continue with ourselves being stupid. We can take the attitude and try to create a more positive state of world for ourselves and try our best for others.

After this post, all positive for the rest of the week.

Personally, I am spending more time off of Twitter. It was stupid before, but now it’s just getting, well honestly, pretty violent on there. Twitter are literally doing nothing to stop it. There are people on there (apart from Rowling) just saying b-shit. You know, even a couple of years ago, they eventually did something about Trump, and COVID? Well now, they’re doing nothing really. It’s not just Rowling, it’s a lot of people, especially those on the right, who are actually threatening people who have pronouns. And Twitter? Do not even delete the tweets.

How many more times do we need to find out that a mass murderer was really obviously on some spiral on Twitter? Andy Ngo is inspiring others to kill every day and what do Twitter do? Literally nothing. Then he gets all offended when a College Campus do not want him on their campus. Is he kidding? Not sorry, but people don’t like you Andy.

Then of course, while literally threatening to kill people for using pronouns. They use pronouns.

We use pronouns every single day. I can totally understand that using they/them may get confusing, when you’re brought up with only she/her or he/him. I am still getting it wrong, but to threaten to kill people?

Pronouns – What Are Pronouns? – Types, Examples & Definition (Study.com)

It is just getting ridiculous.

Interesting Update:

Interesting Update: There was a YouGov poll that came out today, in the UK. I don’t know if it has anything to do with backlash against not banning trans people from conversion therapy. But the poll says that the majority of Tory MPs want the ban to cover trans people too. Not a HUGE majority, but a majority still the same 😂

Ghosting

Ghosting in the dating world, is a really sneaky and cowardly thing to do someone. I should know, the last guy I dated before my current partner, did it too me.

Ghosting someone in the dating world, usually means, that one of the parties just cuts off all contact with someone. Usually the people have known each other for a while, or at least, early dating for a while. It’s not like a couple of dates and that’s it. That’s ghosting someone is so frowned upon.

What made me unhappy about my particular situation, was that I had been friends with the guy for a long time, but because of the age gap (me being older) I kept saying no. Then within a month of me saying “Okay, let’s give this a go”. He ghosted me one weekend. It was the first time I had felt old and used, and an old fool. Funnily enough, a co-worker, younger than me was going through the exact same thing. She had known a guy for ages, kept saying no, she didn’t want anything serious. Within a month of them starting to date, he ghosted her too!

No one really knows why someone ghosts someone, there’s always a different reason. Sometimes it’s just the thrill of the chase, they actually met someone else and don’t want the drama. Sometimes it is just genuinely because they’re not interested anymore.

I can’t answer for my “guy”, there have been some theories. That I’ve even talked about with my current partner. Mainly because I want him to answer for all men (hahaha) totally kidding. He’s never ghosted someone before and he finds that behaviour odd, lol. It really is. It was just a coincidence that myself and another girl were going through it together.

Here are the good things about being ghosted:

EVERYTHING

It might hurt and they wont ever tell you what really happened. I still honestly believe that I was a bet, between him and his friends. YOU ARE LUCKY!

Get yourself a partner that will think it’s odd to ghost someone.

Remind yourself, that you have escaped a total and utter cowardly lion. Because you really have. What kind of person chases someone for months, sometimes nearly a year. Gets who they actually want, and I don’t mind humbling saying a lot want me, same with this other girl too. Just to essentially run away after a month?

Questions:

Do you snore?  How do you know it, if you do?

I think I do, but not all the time. It seems to happen a lot when I have a cold, or the weather is a bit colder. My partner told me, he’s definitely a snorer though. Sometimes it drives me so nuts, so I have to wake him. At the moment I haven’t been, because he’s just bought a house and he’s just started work again for the year (he’s a teacher). So if he can sleep I let him.

What do you find funny?  (credit for question given to Rory and this post in particular:

https://aguycalledbloke.blog/2020/02/05/ha-ha-ha-ahh-what-do-you-find-funny/  )

What was the last furry thing you touched?

Well considering I’m sleeping when this will be posted, I have a couple of plushies on my bed. So, I’ve probably hugged them before I fell asleep, or at least laid down with them in some way.

How do you handcuff a one-armed man?

Where did this question come from this week?lol. I really had to think about it. The only thing I could think of was to cuff them to the top of their bottoms? If they have hook or something? But then what if they don’t. You’d have to handcuff them to yourself, maybe? I think I’ve seen on the tv them doing that, but mainly on tv shows and the movies. Whether or not that happens in real life, I’m not sure. I watch a UK show called “Death in Paradise” absolutely love it. There was one episode where the lead detective was handcuffed to a criminal, and the criminal was killed…while handcuffed to the detective.

An Attitude of Gratitude

This week I challenge you to list five things you’re grateful for.   Credit to this goes to Sadje ( https://lifeafter50forwomen.com/ ) because she’s started a challenge to do that daily.  #5 Things.   Daunting?  Well it is to me!  I’d have trouble finding five one time, let alone each day.

https://lifeafter50forwomen.com/2020/02/07/five-things-feb-7th-2020/

  • As always I am very grateful for both the furbabies being here still. They both have different issues and my mum is always talking about how the Chihuahua is probably going to die soon. I hate it when she talks about it, because yes, she is slowing down, and she’s completely deaf. But she’s fine. I think she’ll be good for at least another year. The way my mum talks though, you’d think it’s going to be next week and I hate it. The cat is still twitching, but no fits. So I suspect he will be with us for a long time yet, lol.
  • For all the work I’m getting at the moment. I found out our CEO really doesn’t like Casuals. So end of March, I have NO idea what’s going to happen. I’m working a lot, so making a lot of money. Which I need for the dentist and my partners moving house. His mortgage brother underestimated how much one fee will be. It’s going to be about $6000. SOo I might need to help him.
  • My mum. My mum offered my partner some money when the mortgage broker forgot a pretty big fee (over $6000). Even my own partners family offered him nothing, my Mum did. Even though she can’t afford it. She knows he’ll be able to pay her back pretty quickly.
  • Someone made the movie LotR and The Hobbit in my life time.
  • David Suchet  … Now HE is an actor!

QUESTIONS:

When was the last time you face palmed?   (for those who aren’t familiar with what that is, here’s a visual for you: )

Image result for face palm

I’m not sure. Mainly because I feel like it happens a lot these days, lol.

When is censorship warranted?  Ever?

The only times I can really think that censorship might be alright is when it involves protecting a child.

If there were commandments for the modern day world, what should (could, would) some of them be?  Get creative!

Be kind to each other.

I think that’s it really,lol

What did you Google last?

Chamomile Tablets. I just had this sudden thought that maybe they would help me better. Whenever I have chamomile tea, I feel instantly better. My anxiety lessens and I stress less. So why not the same with tablets? Wish me luck!

Gratitude is an Attitude:

This week I’m not asking for shares of things people are thankful for, I’m doing a re-blog and point to Beckie’s Mental Mess blog.    She’s started a whole ‘gratitude movement’ with her new weekly challenge:  “Pop of Positivity”.    Here’s a link to her first post in this effort:

You might want to check that out!

Have a fabulous week!

QUESTIONS:

If you had to sum up the whole human species in 3 words, what would those words be?

Heart, Evil and Weird.

Black And White Quote GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

Where is the strangest place you’ve relieved yourself?  Obviously in an emergency situation.

I don’t think I’ve relieved myself some weird before. I have had to relieve myself a couple of times over the years on long walking tracks. But I don’t know if that’s “weird”…I mean, I’m out in nature…As “God” intended? It’s funny because a lot of my anxieties have to do with bathroom situations. Someone wouldn’t let me out of their new car, so I could run into a shop, or even a public bathroom. It’s almost like they want me to “let loose” in their new car? I didn’t, but it was really close. I was literally banging on the door to be let out. Ever since, I hate travelling, I hate being “trapped” and being in a car, or any transport. So who am I too judge?lol…Everybody does it!

What is the worst smelling place you’ve ever been?

I’ve never been to it, but my Aunt used to live near a mushroom farm. You didn’t even have to drive directly by it, to smell it. It didn’t put me off eating them either…But the smell, altogether, was atrocious.

How drunk is drunk enough?

When you blackout and you can’t remember what happened. That only happened to me once and I realised it was also connected to jagerbombs. As soon as I drink one, I’ll be sick about 30 minutes later. So I had two one time and blacked out. I was lucky that I was with people I could trust. I had taken a top off while I was asleep BUT I had a strappy top on still. The one I wore underneath the other top, but to this day I don’t remember taking off the outer top.

Gratitude Is An Attitude!

If you’d like, please list five things that are priceless to you.

  1. Some members of my family, lol
  2. My boyfriend =D
  3. The furbabies…But they’re family too really,lol
  4. There are some bits and bobs. For example, the last birthday card my Grandfather gave me before he passed.
  5. A good book and good music…Sometimes at the same time!

QUESTIONS:

What makes you laugh?

Oh, so many things make me laugh. I’ve been holding onto them so much these days. I always tape a couple of comedies, just to make sure that I have something to laugh with. At lot of the “laugh out loud” shows, they make on the television. I love those. My brother has a fabulous witty biotchy side, I wish I had it!

What’s the world coming to?  (Credit to Mel of Crushed Caramel…)

Doom and Gloom!lol…Just kidding. I think we’ve hit a bump, but I think after this is all over. Changes will definitely take place. There’s no way we can just “go back”.

In one sentence sum up the Internet.

A place to communicate.

If over time you replace parts on a car, at what point does it stop being the same car you bought? How many parts do you need to replace to make it a new car?

I have no idea how many parts a car even has, lol.

Gratitude is an attitude.   Yea or nay?   Explain your viewpoint please!

Oh I absolutely believe it is, sometimes it’s a case of fake it till you make it.

Nurt Thurs – Flip the Script

Nurture Thursday  – Flip the Script

My work place is going through a big work review type thing. Jobs will be changed, some will probably retire. So it’s been interesting to see how different people have reacted. There’s one staff member who never shows up and is always “sick” when she watches over the entry test. She’s not doing the exam, she just has to sit there. Then you have another who shows up still. Always wanting to help. Always there, never sick. Yet, they irony is because he hasn’t been at this particular campus as long as the other worker. He’s probably going to be swapped first. Either way, he’ll be fine, the other wont, because she will still have to watch over test that she’ll always be ‘sick’ for.

Attitude

You have to flip that script, change your attitude and your perspective to the problem. You can do it!!!

It’s all about the Attitude

Captain Jack Sparrow

Nurturing – Thursday – Attitude

In the immortal words of Captain Jack Sparrow

This is actually a really great one for me this week. I ended up having a lot of issues with my anxiety and I had to visit the Doctors. One of the questions that he had to ask was I irritable? Normally I am not irritable, but I did realise that this week I had been. However, I knew it was my issues that were upsetting me. When dealing with other people, I had to meditate myself to not become irritated with them. My issues are not their issues. Which made me also think of my ex friends. How everything is about her. When she accused me of things, it was because and I quote “That’s how I feel when I’m single” Even though the way I thought was the complete opposite. How she would rather hear that we are unhappy in our relationships when she’s single…Still not a good enough excuse to blame me for why her boyfriend treats her badly?
