Thursday Theories – Are Dragons real?

Since Dragon Appreciation Day is on the weekend, what a better time to have a little post about Dragons.

You want to know the best thing about Dragons?

They are real!

May I introduce you too…the Komodo Dragon!

The saddest thing?

Last year Komodo Dragons and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), a global authority that this weekend released its latest Red List of threatened species. The list, which included the evaluation of more than 138,000 species, shifted the status of the Komodo dragon from vulnerable to endangered.

Rising sea levels caused by hotter temperatures melting ice and expanding oceans will reduce the dragon’s habitat on Komodo and neighbouring remote islands by at least 30 per cent in the next 45 years, the IUCN said at its World Conservation Congress gathering in the French city of Marseille.

Although Appreciate a Dragon Day is about Dragons in literature, we can appreciate a real life Dragon…RIGHT NOW…By helping fight climate change. Are you up for not slaying the Dragon this time, but to rescue it?

If a distant uncle dies and you were always his favorite and leaves you $50,000 (any currency) in his will, what would you do?

I would probably give a couple of thousand to my Mum, Dad, Brother and partner…I would go somewhere, maybe too Queensland and have a proper holiday. The rest I would put away for a “rainy day”.

What sound or sounds do you love?

  • Birds chirping
  • Hearing the lazagne packet open
  • If I hear music and it fits my mood…I LOVE that!

What’s your middle name?  Why?

I am a weirdo…I have no middle name! My mum does, but my Dad and brother also do not have a middle name…and I am trying to negotiate with my partner that if we have a boy, I can have the name ‘Joseph’ in there somewhere. Can anyone tall me how I can convince him? He has a cousin-in-law with the Joseph and he doesn’t want to repeat.

It’s been an interesting week. I’ve been getting shifts at work again, which have made me happy…My body has been randomly stiffening up and loosening. I’ve been getting together a lot of things that are crafty and are inspiring me to craft again. Yet, I don’t have enough and I have SO many ideas, that it’s stopping me,lol.

Interesting week

How do you like your eggs?

I honestly like my eggs every way that you can think of, I don’t really dislike one way or the other. However, my favourite has to be scrambled egg. Just thinking about it, makes me hungry and I just had dinner!

Have you ever met anyone famous?

I kind of have. I’ve been to a lot of those “nerd type” conventions where people “Cosplay” and you meet and take photos with different types of pop culture icons. So technically I have, but I haven’t sat down and had a conversation with them. The ones that I’ve taken photos with (I’ll just name a couple..Mainly the ones I can remember):

  • Benedict Cumberbatch…but he was so popular it was so quick!
  • Jason Momoa…He was totally gorgeous! So tall…and mhmm =D He’s been my favourite so far, mainly because he was SO personable. I think that’s why he keeps doing them.
  • Jewel Staite from Firefly and some others…I think she was in a Stargate as well?
  • James Marsters – Spike from Buffy and Angel…He was so shy!
  • I got a photo with a Dwarf and a Hobbit =D

I’ve got a folder full of the photos I’ve gotten over the years. I’m just waiting for David Borenaz and Matt Smith!

What was the first thing you bought with your own money?

I think it would have been a cd?…I am actually almost convinced that it was Hansons “mmmbop”.

When it comes to the #safarilive group, there are other cams that we watch when Safari Live isn’t on. It’s just been nice this week too just been chatting with them causally this week. We seem to have all had a semi rough week this week and it’s been nice just chatting with them all.

Are you a practical jokester?

No..but I constantly think of doing practical jokes to people I know…I just never follow through.

Who cuts your hair?  You, a friend, or professional.

My mum actually does it most of them time. We have a few family friends that are hairdressers but most of the time I just need a quick trim. If my Mum didn’t want to or couldn’t, I’d probably go to one of them. Sometimes I want to go to a hairdressers and get something fancy done, but it’s just too money for something that will probably only look nice for a day.

Did you have a stuffed animal when you were a kid, if so what kind?

Oh I had a LOT! I’ve still got some as well. Some I’ve put away for my future children, some of the others I’ve gotten rid of (either through donations or just thrown out). Some are still out in my room. Picture below. They’re usually just all together all the time, every now and then (particularly difficult week/s) I will bring one of them onto my bed with me. It’s nice to have something from your childhood to cuddle…If they could talk…I would have to kill them!lol

Sometimes you just need a reminder too forget the people that have tried to hurt, lied about, gossip and try to make others hate you. Forget those who have made you angry and remember to cherish every single second with those who have loved you, those who do love you and those who you love. They wont be around forever.

What a weekend!

I promised more posts on the weekend and what a weekend it is turning out to be!…and it’s only Saturday morning…well…as I write this it is =P You will all be getting this in the evening, just because SO much has been happening!

First can I say to anyone who read this and is a Texas reader, though I am sure there are far more important things to worry about than my little blog…I hope you are all safe and that the damage is not too great! I will say that I’m praying for you, because I feel…apart from good hope…it’s all I can do.

Second, it is International Appreciation Dog...My little bundle of fluff, actually had to go to the Vets yesterday and get a few teeth out. She was very sleepy, but she’s doing great. She hasn’t had to go under at the Vets, very often…So there are a lot of nerves whenever she does. Although my little bundle of love isn’t an “official” therapy dog, she has probably been the most helpful when it comes to my anxiety…and she will never even know!

I refuse to talk about what’s happening in the WH house though. Though a lot is going on. Where does one even begin with that?

The other bad bad news, I have to work tomorrow after only getting one day off and then working for another 5 days…So far looks like I’ll be getting two days off next weekend though =D I need a holiday!

Music Appreciation

As I mentioned before in one of my recent posts “Blog Block” I have this thing for music when it comes to mood. Music, for me, is almost like a mood ring…You can tell how I’m feeling by the music I listen too.

“Jared Leto – Some people believe in God, I believe in music. Some people pray, I turn up the radio”.

So I thought that I would make up a list of the general songs I listen to, depending on my mood, please feel free to share this list or tag other people in the list.

  1. Creative Block: Anything Celtic sounding
  2. Angry: Anything by AC/DC…Anything metal or rock
  3. Happy: (This may be a cliche) “Happy” by Pharell Williams
  4. Getting ready for fun/party/dancing: “Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson
  5. General Happiness: Anything by Delta Goodrem
  6. Sadness: Wendy Matthews

Happy Mother’s Day!!! (In Australia)

Happy Mothers Day! I’m not sure if that it’s Mothers Day all over the world, but here in the land Down Under we are celebrating Mothers’ Day today.

So I say Happy Mother’s Day to all of the Mothers out there! All the Mums in whatever shape or form that they come in, I hope that you all have a great day! Whether you are a mother by birth, adoptive mothers, step mums, grandma’s, Aunties and all the mums out there (Fur-baby mama’s included). This includes the Mum’s that may not be with us any-more and are watching over us.

Some of us are lucky enough to have a great relationship with our Mothers, when I was younger I had one of those stormy relationships with my Mum. As the years have gone by though I am very happy to say that we have become closer and can honestly say that we are now really good friends as well as being Mother and daughter (I think that she would find the below video really funny too!)

Always here too me…

I promise that I will stop posting the depressing blog posts about break ups soon, I have a slight feeling that I am feeling a little better. I have stopped talking to my ex, cold turkey. He didn’t do anything wrong I just realised that I was not moving on and so far this actually seems to be working. I was just having this random thought and at the moment I’m not really sure that I even know how to talk to my friends and family about it, mainly because I am worried if I let them know how I’m feeling, they will become worried and there’s nothing to worry about. So I guess what I’m saying any advice would be much appreciated! (Am I glad or what my ex can’t see this either!lol)

This is the first break up that I have ever had where I feel truly alone. I feel a huge part of me is missing. It took me a long time to let my guard down with my ex and when I did, I fell pretty darn quickly after that. He became such a huge part of my life in such a big way in a short amount of time and I’m not even sure any-more what he was actually feeling. He made feel the happiest and the safest that I have ever felt before and now I have the hopeless feeling that he may have never cared for me as strongly as I felt for him. I’m tired of asking him if he did care about me, because why would he say no for? He’d be too terrified to tell me anything else, lol.

In all honesty, in thirty years, I have never felt like this after a break up. Sometimes it is extremely distressing and I completely zone out and pay no attention to what is going on around me (I nearly got hit by a car the other day). Has anyone else ever gone through this? Can you give any advice on how to help me through? What are some steps that I could take to get through this.

Cheers!*

*Update* I had this post scheduled and since then I am no longer in contact with my ex in anyway and have no plans of that changing shortly, but I would still appreciate the advice!
