30 day song challenge … Day 8

Day 8 … A song about alcohol or drugs.

I had to look this one up, in my naivety, I’m not 100% sure which ones may or may not be.

One of the most relentlessly sunshine-y songs of the Nineties was actually written from the dingy indoor perspective of a man and woman on a drug binge – crystal meth, to be precise. “Then I bumped again,” sings Stephan Jenkins, whose refrain is the same as that of every drug user, ever: “I want something else/To get me through this life.”

Question Mark? What did you question?

So 2020 hit us all in different way, but I would like to know. How many of you questioned something, you’d never thought of before BECAUSE of 2020. As an not an example, what makes right wingers *things*. More things like, as a example. In my state in Australia, we went into a 6 day lockdown, strict, literally only essentials opened. So hospitals, supermarkets. I can’t remember if the local GP’s had to shut down too. However, it only ever ended up being 3 days, I think? The person lied essentially.

One of the places that were opened before, but not during this 6 day lockdown were our local and big named company alcohol shops. During the 6 day lockdown they were deemed to be not essential, and places sold out! It made me wonder “How reliant is our society on alcohol?” Most people have at least one thing in their fridge or you know bourbon or rum in their cupboards. It was only going to be for six day, only one person was allowed to go to the shops, and you most definitely were not allowed to have others over.

6 days, that was going to be it.

Then I saw someone I follow on Twitter, say that her and her husbands goal for the year, was too ONLY drink alcohol on the weekends, and not during the week. They were worried! Sometimes I’ll have a glass of something during the week, but not ALL the time, and not every week. Where it becomes a problem, that I don’t know what other non-alcohol beverages there are, lol.

And what is it with people who are “not into water” How can someone not *be* into water? Unless you’re allergic or something.

Jim and Me

I am sitting here with my best friend in the whole wide world…Jim Beam…He’s a great guy, reliable, makes me happy, makes me feel relaxed and doesn’t judge me when I get up to do my drunken dance to some truly horrible music (well at the moment I am watching “The Mummy”…may not be the best movie when you are by yourself…in the dark).

Trying so hard to distract myself, maybe Jim isn’t being a very good friend too me, all I can think about is you again…Like my other post ““It’s like Radar” that one stupid text! I’m surprised with how well I am coping, but I wish he hadn’t sent it. I literally had been thinking that day how I hadn’t thought of him all day and then two hours later…

How do other people distract themselves during times like these? I have actually never had an ex reach out and apologise to me before. Luckily for me I have a lot of homework that needs to be done, so I have been distracting myself with that and now I am watching movies…and everyone should watch this live feed…Pete’s Pond…You’ll even see me on there most days making comments, sometimes I’ll have it on in the background while I do homework…Elephants, Lions and Ostriches…Oh my!

Magic Drinking Buddies

So this was an weekend where moi may have had a little much to drink and definitely paid the price for it. Even though I don’t live in America I actually enjoy watching the Superbowl…I do enjoy many sports (except cricket or tennis…Just never got into them). So I decided to go with a character this week that is well-known for the drink.

There were two characters that I just love and pretty well-known for their drinking attributes and I couldn’t pick so I just decided to go with both of them.

Probably one of the most beloved (but lets face it…alcoholic) characters of all time…
Homer Simpson:

“The Simpsons” were first introduced on the ‘Tracey Ullman Show”on April 19, 1987 as a bunch of ‘shorts’. “The Simpsons” is both the longest running animation show and also the longest running sitcom and is well considered to be one of the greatest shows of all time.

My second favourite drinking buddy is Captain Jack Sparrow!

Not only is he utterly gorgeous and funny but is another character that is well known for drinking…Mainly Rum! PAY ATTENTION PEOPLE…There is going to be a 5th Pirates of the Caribbean! The Pirates of the Caribbean is based on a Disney theme park ride of the same name. The films first film and first release was in 2003. The Pirates sequel movie: ‘Dead Man’s Chest” was the most successful film in 2006.
“But why is the Rum gone?!”
