Share Your World …. March 20, 2017

How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?

This such an interesting question. Mainly because how often do we all feel like we are not who we are? Sometimes and in some situations, I feel older than my age. Then other situations I feel about 5 (Beauty and the Beast coming out, being one of those moments). A lot of people think that I’m about in my early 20’s. I think this is too do with just my laidback type nature. Being happy makes me seem younger I suppose. So I would have to say if I didn’t know me, I’d probably think I was in my early 20s as well.

So, you’re on your way out and it’s raining. Do you know where your umbrella is or do you frantically search for it all over your apartment/house?

I know where one of my umbrellas is and it’s kind of cool. My mum gave my brother and I each for Christmas. That might sound like a weird gift, but the umbrellas are a bit different. There not as easily ripped, it’s hard to describe them without seeing them, but they are good quality umbrellas.

Do you recharge your energy by going out with friends for a good time or by spending with quiet time alone?

Time alone…Time alone always…I have been waiting for nearly months now to have an entire night to myself. It’s interesting, I don’t work full time, but I go to work all the time and haven’t had just a week off…From everything. I feel like I need that.

Name three things you and your spouse, partner or best friend  to have in common.

  • We can be together in silence, but still together.
  • We have a similar sense of humour, we know when to not take to each other too seriously.
  • We are both terrible procrastinators.

Share Your World … Week 30

Share Your World … Week 30

Do you prefer a bath or shower?

I am more of a shower girl, I do enjoy my baths … BUT … usually I’ll have them if I’m feeling stiff and I can’t stand, due to long days at works or my sciatica. I usually don’t end up staying long in a bath either, because they make me really sleepy.

If you had an unlimited shopping spree at only one store, which one would you choose? Why?

Only one?! Does this include online shops? My favourite shop of all time is Boohoo . com, I buy something from them nearly once a month I think. Most of the time they fit me really well, for online they do really well.

If you could be one age for the rest of your life, what age would that be?

I would probably be 30 for the rest of my life. 30 was probably like my most favourite year (as long as I get to be with my current partner). I hadn’t gotten sciatica yet, it was just a great party year, work was certain.

List at least five movies that cheer you up.

  1. Robin Hood:Men in Tights
  2. The Emperors New Groove
  3. All of the “Rush Hours” movie…ALL of them! I thought the tv series was actually pretty good. Just not the same without Jackie and Chris though.
  4. Pretty much all of those 80’s send-up films with Leslie Nielsen in them, even if he’s not staring in it. I don’t know what the genre would be called.
  5. Pretty much anything that comedic…I know that seems like a cop out, but my favourite genre in movies is musicals, but they very rarely “cheer me up” so to speak, lol. Musicals can be quiet depressing.

32

As I mentioned before it is my birthday today and I can even give you a guess of my age. I’ll give you a guess with a posting from my favourite author “Paulo Coelho”.

There is some great advice in here and being of this age, I can agree that a lot of these have come up for me over the last year. Even the not being in an office job for the rest of my life.

21st Century Citizen

https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/21st-century-citizen/

Here is the question:

Do you belong in this day and age? Do you feel comfortable being a citizen of the 21st-century? If you do, explain why — and if you don’t, when in human history would you rather be?

For years I always had this feeling that I was born in the wrong era, I love the hippy life…Except for not shaving…I enjoy shaving. The last couple of years I’ve felt more and more like I belong here. I can embrace my hippy lifestyle and still belong in the now. It’s weird in a way, I still feel like I’d prefer to be among the 70’s but the way with technology and even with social media, I’ve been helping others to understand how to use social media in a positive way rather than negative. Which cannot be done back in the 70s (the technology was not available thne). So I’ve been spreading the love and peace, but using it for the 21st century. It’s a whole different way of life.

Age of Ultron…My Review (attempt)

Finally my partner and I gave into our nerdy side and we saw the new “Avengers” movie “Age of Ultron”…I felt like I needed to write this, because it seems like during the press junkets, they are getting such a bad wrap and I want people to still see this movie. It just seems such a shame these days that social media can make or break a movie these days, instead of letting people to just…escape…

For a sequel movie (which I had to remind myself since so many of Marvels’ movies are now interlinked) it was great! I always have a little fear going into sequels, they tend to either be really great or they are really horrible. Now the other thing is though I haven’t yet seen any of the Captain America movies and you will definitely have to see those movies to get some of the references.

What I liked most about this movie is though it manages to show each character from a different angle, it gave a deeper showing of each characters motivations and background, without dragging away from the story. The movie kept moving and you didn’t even notice the “breaks”. That’s what I love most about movies the chance to escape from reality. When someone can do that and give the characters depth while still moving the story and plot along, I just think that is genius!

Share Your World – 2015 Week #14

What type of music relaxes you the most or do you prefer silence?

This is kind of a “little from column A and a little from column B” answer. I have moods where I need the music to distract myself, but I also have the times where I need the silence. I have found a type of music though recently (literally this week) where I can listen to the music at any-time … Look up David Arkenstone, you wont be disappointed!

Show us a two of your favorites photographs?  Explain why they are your favorite.   If you are not a photographer, think of a two favorite scenes in your life and tell us about them.

Ellie3 This is more a of a screenshot of a live safari feed that I watch. If you read my Blog, you will already know how much I love this Safari feed. This one just reminds me of how little baby elephants truly are. How anyone could want to kill such a sweet thing, is beyond me.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Oh, come on…What’s NOT to love about this photo?lol…It created such fun and happy times.

What is your favorite tradition? (family tradition, church tradition, whatever)

Christmas…I LOVE Christmas and over the years we have changed some and improved others. One of my favourite traditions though is when the adults have our secret santa presents. My Grandfather passed a few years ago and one of his “things” was to wrap presents in newspaper, and since he passed every Christmas the adults wrap their secret Santa presents in newspaper. One of the reasons its my favourite is because we live all over the country, we swap newspapers to wrap the presents in and spend most of the day trying to guess who is whose “Secret Santa”.

If you could go back and talk to yourself at age 18 what advice would you give yourself?  Or if you are younger than 25 what words of wisdom would you like to tell yourself at age 50?

Keep up with the travelling, but work towards becoming a Librarian earlier. If you have to work full time and study at the same time…DO IT!

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

My partner not making me feel guilty about wanting to spend some alone time, because I was stressed out about an assignment due this week. I am looking forward to NOT having to make another public presentation…Ever Again!lol

Retail Therapy

The last couple of months I have hit the retail therapy HARD CORE! I mean generally there is always some kind of retail therapy for me after a breakup, but I have been getting rid of so many old clothes and getting new gorgeous ones. It is a necessary function that needs to be performed after every single break up…No matter how nice or nasty!

It is interesting though what people decide to buy after a break up. When I was younger I used to buy plush toys and I still actually have them all and I have no bad feelings towards any of them. As I’ve gotten older though I buy clothes more now and I buy things that I’ve been wanting for a while but never got around too.

What do you buy after a breakup? What makes you feel better? Is it buying bad food (sometimes I do that…Nice juicy bad burger~.^) is it watching “bad” movies? Is it just being around family and friends?.

Life is…Magic?

life,magic

I have said “Goodbye” to too many things that I love and care about today (well in the last 24 hours). One of the baby ostriches passed away from complications that resulted from a minor surgery, which is very common in birds. Birds seem to stress out quite easily. It was horrible because I saw the whole thing. Flipped over on her back and then she just never got up again, it was a slow and painful thing to see. Then the other one (once the body was removed) became very quickly distressed. Luckily though, the family looking after these sweet babies took swift action and took the other baby to an Ostrich farm and from the pictures is already striving extremely well there.

However the other person I had to say goodbye too was my Beau that I had been seeing for the last few months. It’s probably the hardest break up I’ve had. In terms of that we both really want to be together, very badly. However, the age gap is just too large of a thing and we can’t really ignore it. Honestly, for once, the line “Can we still be friends?” was the hardest line I’ve had to hear BUT for the first time in my life, I really do want too. Nothing was done to hurt either party, but we shall see what happens…Watch this space for more…!

So life…Watch you got for me next? Can you please leave it for a little while longer?
