Thursday Theories – If a Alien life exists, that’s older than human life … Would they be progressive?

Would they be more civilized? Would they be smarter and kinder?

Judging by human beings … I say no. You can say yes, but here’s why I think no.

One, Aliens would have to be VERY different from humans, and I don’t mean “Dr Who” Time Lord type “alien”. It’d have to be completely different.

You take a look at current countries, like the UK, like Scotland, like the US, like China, even Afghanistan. These are all countries that have a LONG…LONG…History behind them. Yet, they are probably some of the worst countries “human rights” wise. How, as an example, does the UK, with such a long History behind them, still end up with Boris Johnson? How does in 2021, the UK and Scotland, end up with such rampant racism, transphobia, sexism, hypocrisy in BOTH major parties? HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN!

Like Churchill was a old racist, but at least, he got his people through. Johnson is racist and so is his party, but also he’s not gotten the UK through literally ANYTHING, without it being a complete fiasco.

How does a country like the US, whose entire reason to leave the UK was because they wanted to practice their religions freely and without persecution. All these years later, end up electing people who want their people to be like the people they were escaping in the first place? That’s why the forefathers had the “FORE”-sight “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;”

But then you look at a young country like New Zealand.

Strongly progressive with a lot of modern issues. The amount of people who want to live there, would probably be more than any other country.

So would a older culture than human beings, and possibly older than the Earth, be more progressive? Be kinder? I personally don’t think so, haha. If we judge anything to do with Earth and Human Beings, then no. This is why I’m saying for “aliens” need to be more and completely different than human, to be progressive.

I have decided to go with the Muggles questions this week. I just liked them better, lol

Melanie’s Muggle Questions:

I’m very short on time today (Sunday) so I’m borrowing from Rory and Sandmanjazz to fill the questions today:

Do our fears start with our DNA?  (Credit to Rory)

I think so. I have this joke, that my sane side is thanks to my mum, and my crazier side is due to my Dad’s. It’s my mum’s side, that keeps my Dad’s inherited crazy side, sane, lol

If you could have your hair any colour for 24 hours, what colour would you choose?  (Credit to Sandmanjazz)

When do you think a person gets old?  (Credit to Rory)

I am very much of the thinking that you’re as old as you feel. Wait…Is that right? Some days I feel old, and then other days I feel younger than my age, then some other days I feel exactly my age.

GRATITUDE SECTION  (as always this is optional)

Please feel free to write about an uplifting moment in your life this week!

I know that I’m posting this on September 11th. However, considering the current state of US affairs. With the Covid 19 deaths, now at least triple, if not more than the deaths on the 11th. I’m grateful your still here to read my blog. It’s means your safe, America seems really scary right now!

QUESTIONS:

1.  What age would you like to live to?
It depends on the quality of life, if I’m 90 and still going strong, great. If I’m 60 and not doing well, I’d want to keep living, but become a lot easier on myself. I often thought about this when my Grandfather, who had emphysema contract the MRSA hospital bug. One of those little suckers go right into the hole of his lungs, and he could live, but be in hospital the rest of his life. The antibiotics only ever getting to the outside of the virus, so it was never going to disappear. He decided to stop taking the antibiotics, so he ended up dying a lot earlier than he should have. The damn hospital still put his death as emphysema, as they didn’t want to have another MRSA death.

2.  What mystery do you wish you knew the answer to?
How people think, especially at the the moment. I think the thing that scares me the most, is how quickly people seem to “fall” into cults and thinking, like Trump supporters. They’ve spent their entire lives following God, and then it’s only been 3 and a bit years.

3.  Does absolute power corrupt absolutely?
It seems too!

4.  What outdoor activity haven’t you tried, but would like to?
I have always wanted to try skiing, but I am to frightened and I am so noT coordinated, lol

GRATITUDE SECTION (Not mandatory)

Please free free to share some gratitude from your world!
Well my Mum actually has freaked me out this morning, so I am grateful she is still here. Even though she completely has now scared me.

Age vs Maturity

I think that the climate strike rallies/protests really proved something. The reactions to people like Greta Thumberg. Just because your “old” doesn’t automatically make you a more mature human being. Take Alan Jones, he NEARLY…NEARLY…Mind you…lost his job for saying that the Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Arden needed to have a sock pushed down her throat…It was apparently his last chance, despite saying even worse things previously…Then less than a month later we had this…

If you could choose any person from history to be your imaginary friend, who would it be and why?

Oh gosh, a quicker question would be who wouldn’t I want it too be! lol…I’ve really had to think about this one…I’ve managed to narrow it down though between three people. One would be the artist, Monet, the other Audrey Hepburn and the last would be Cleopatra or Nefertiti. I did think Einstein too, but I think he’d be way too smart for me!lol
I’m going with Audrey Hepburn though. I feel like she did so much with her life. She was intelligent, she was kind, she was real go-getter. She did so much for other people. Although I am completely fascinated by Cleopatra, she killed a lot to get where she was. I don’t really know that much about Nefertit and I mainly love Monet for his art, but also because he reminds me of my Great-Grand Father, but he’s not.

60s, 70s, 80s, 90s: Which decade do you love the most and why?

I love the age of the 90’s. I kind of love the 60’s too though. SO much happened in both these eras. I love the fashions of the 60’s, but I also love the progressiveness of the 60’s and the 90’s. In both America and Australia (though I was not born yet and too young to be a Glimmer in my father’s eye). You had the Civil Rights Act and the Australian Indigenous people got the right to vote. Those these are probably not much now, but they were HUGE steps forward for the time. It didn’t solve all the problems, but it was s start! The beginning is a very good place to start.

When you die, what do you want to be remembered for?

Just someone who wanted everyone to be happy. Someone who wanted peace both worldwide and for everyone inner’s self.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

Sometimes you do just take the little things that have made you happy and focus solely on them. Anxiety wise, I’ve been a rough week and it’s been making so tired, but it’s been really lovely getting into bed with my partner. Now we haven’t been able to do the hanky panky (I’m not able to this week and my partner hurt his ankle and is in a boot) but we’ve been cuddling and mucking about. It’s been really nice and makes me forget about my troubles.

30. Your Current Age

A true Lady never reveals her age!

I can say though that I somewhere in-between 32-34 years old ~.^

There is a lot to be grateful for at this age. I feel like myself and others around my age, we’re at that age when we are starting to realise that being “Us” is hey okay. We still have insecurities and I don’t think that’s really going go away, but they don’t tend to plague most of us. Sure there will always be those people who just have issues all the time. I think though being older and wiser you learn to have better coping skills, most of the time.

I think you start to learn that not being the best friend of everyone is alright. Not going to every single club is alright. Having complete weekends in and not seeing another human being the whole weekend, is really quiet satisfying. That as long as you’re a good person and you are doing the best you can, that’s alright. It’s okay to not have everything perfectly set yet either. You’re still young enough to…How can I term this…Make life changing decisions, but also old enough to be content if this is what you want for your life. Whether that is making huge decisions or just living to day to day.

I’m not a parent so I would assume that’s a different kind of life all together, and I can’t really make comments about that.

You may find that I am being a bit lazy with my posts this week, I am pretty much taking things I’ve read from the headlines and writing into my own thoughts. I’ve got a fair bit on this week and probably wont get much of a chance to sit down and properly think out a post.

Saying all of that, I found this article and can I just say these women still look amazing! They have clearly been taking care of themselves over the years, I hope I look that I manage to stay that gorgeous over the years.

What’s your strongest sense?

As long as I haven’t burnt my tongue, I think that my taste is probably my strongest sense (I’m assuming we’re talking about the 5 senses here) As soon as I start eating I usually can taste a lot in it, including that special taste of “I really need to stop eating this”lol

Which of Snow White’s 7 dwarfs describes you best? (Doc, Happy, Bashful, Sleepy, Sneezy, Grumpy, Dopey)

It’s probably somewhere between Happy and Bashful. It honestly depends on how well you know me, if I don’t know you very well, I would probably be more bashful. I’m still happy, but I am definitely a lot more shy. If you know me well I would probably be a lot more happier.

If you could be one age for the rest of your life, what age would that be?

I probably would have stayed 30, but as long as I get to keep the people that I have in my life right now, and the people who are not apart of it now, still aren’t apart of it. That year that I turned 30 was probably my best year ever and I constantly wish that I could relive it. It seemed like once I turned 31 everything started to feel more frustrating, my body just started breaking up/down and I was getting nowhere with getting a library job. If I could just be 30 now with everything that I have in my life now, I’d be so happy.

How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?

This such an interesting question. Mainly because how often do we all feel like we are not who we are? Sometimes and in some situations, I feel older than my age. Then other situations I feel about 5 (Beauty and the Beast coming out, being one of those moments). A lot of people think that I’m about in my early 20’s. I think this is too do with just my laidback type nature. Being happy makes me seem younger I suppose. So I would have to say if I didn’t know me, I’d probably think I was in my early 20s as well.

So, you’re on your way out and it’s raining. Do you know where your umbrella is or do you frantically search for it all over your apartment/house?

I know where one of my umbrellas is and it’s kind of cool. My mum gave my brother and I each for Christmas. That might sound like a weird gift, but the umbrellas are a bit different. There not as easily ripped, it’s hard to describe them without seeing them, but they are good quality umbrellas.

Do you recharge your energy by going out with friends for a good time or by spending with quiet time alone?

Time alone…Time alone always…I have been waiting for nearly months now to have an entire night to myself. It’s interesting, I don’t work full time, but I go to work all the time and haven’t had just a week off…From everything. I feel like I need that.

Name three things you and your spouse, partner or best friend  to have in common.

  • We can be together in silence, but still together.
  • We have a similar sense of humour, we know when to not take to each other too seriously.
  • We are both terrible procrastinators.
