Goodreads

This post is just a quick run through of my Goodreads profile for 2018 and what I have done, reading wise for the year. This isn’t a complete accurate overview, there were some books I read as part of Blog Challenges, that I did not always put onto my Goodreads list.

One year ago…Roughly…ish

It has been roughly…ish a year since I had my massive anxiety/panic attack. I say roughly because it wasn’t really something I was writing about anywhere at the time. I was flat out on my partners couch for three days straight, to scared too move. The tv was on 24/7 because the moment there was no noise, I started to think…what on earth set me off…

The weird thing about my anxiety attack was that it happened in the middle of the night, roughly about 2-3am. Too this day I cannot tell you for the life of me what exactly set it off. I did have a lot going on at the time, but I thought I was fine…So it was all definitely unexpected. I wont go into details about what happened when I woke up, but it’s the closest I have come to feeling like I am going to die. Hence why I wont go into details, too upsetting.

I have achieved a lot in this year! Probably more than any other to be honest. I have a lot planned for next year! Right now, I am just trying to stay on budget and save.

Believe it or not I actually don’t like dwelling on it too much. Mainly because when I start to think about that night, I am taken back to that night. If that makes sense? However, it’s also a double edge sword. As when I talk about it too people, it helps others and it does help me. It gives us all suggestions on what could help.

August Goals – Too tick or not too tick

  • Christmas Present check time! – What I mean by this is, see what I already have gathered, write it down and check what else I need.

This is done! I have also though gotten a few more presents since. I don’t really have that much left to get honestly. Which is fantastic, especially since work has gotten slow recently.

  • Get the Lolsy’s Shop up and running.

It’s not up and running…Yet…But I’ve started to make and get things together for it. I want to work on it a little longer first. I can see though I may have not needed to make a entirely different website for it now though…But we’ll wait and see! I’m not getting rid of it yet.

  • Get a Yoga Schedule – Focus mainly on strengthen my sciatica.

I haven’t gotten around to making a Yoga schedule, but I have been doing more breathing exercises instead. Unfortunately I nearly had a panic attack and after talking to my therapist, I thought it was just better too learn how to do breathing. Which probably sounds weird in itself.

  • Make a budget. I don’t know how but somehow even though my anxiety has lessened and I’ve been able to start catching buses again. Somehow I spent more money than when I’d caught taxis? Makes no sense!

This is actually going well, because I have started to feel more comfortable taking buses again. That has saved me SO much! It shows, I’ve been able to get more Christmas presents as the money I’ve saved as allowed me too. So I’m hitting two birds with one stone really (what a terrible saying, lol).

So two and a half out of four, not to bad.

June Goals…Tick or not to Tick?

  • Start making the candles.

I did, but oh my goodness. It’s been a little harder than I thought as well! I bought SO much of it as well. Without realising that I had bought so much of it.

  • Look into labels for candles.

I did do this, I think if I were to sell candles I have to put some warning labels at least on the bottoms of the candles. So I will have to get those.

  • Create something…That is something which I cannot tell you about yet, until it’s all set up…Watch this space for more…

This was done! It was my new (hopefully better organised) website. Which you can find here: Lolly’s Library – The Website

  • Go for my drivers licence…At least my “L’s”

I did this as well. The first time I got one of the give way questions wrong. I had the right answer to begin with as well! I was so frustrated with myself!

I DID IT!!!

  • Go through my pants again and get rid of ones that don’t fit and aren’t not suitable/warm enough for Winter.

I did this one too…But I also bought new pants…I hurt my leg a couple of years ago and put some weight on. Now I’ve been losing it a bit lately. Not only have I been wanting to get rid of pants, but I also have too because some are getting baggier on me now. I always keep at least a pair around whether I put on weight or not. Just in case I put on or lose weight again.

September Goals … Tick or Not to Tick?

During September I decided that I was going to start making goals, regular goals. Ones that you can do every day. I also started to make more health orientated goals, but I will write about them separately.

My goals from September were:

  • I will write at one least one Blog post under my Category “Single in a small city”. I always have trouble with this category.

I managed to do this, I did really struggle to be honest. Then I found this amazing site! Read about it here at “The Swag“. Tick.

  • There are two books that I am reading at the same time…I will get through at least half of both of them and finish off at least one. The one that I finish I will write a review in October (can you believe one month from now it’ll be October!) for it. (Please see what I”m reading with my Goodreads profile)

I have been reading “Three Queens, Three Sisters” by Phillipa Gregory. I have also read “The Children of Hulrin” (you can press the above Goodreads link to see my progress.) I have completed the three Queens one, so be expecting a review of this soon! The J.R.R Tolkien one has been taking a while, I haven’t been able to just sit down and read this one like I have with the other. It has genuinely really great getting back into reading though as well. I found with the Three Queens once I picked it up, I had a hard time putting it down again. Tick.

  • Go through my dresses and get rid of at least 3-5 of them.

I didn’t end up doing this one, but I did end up going through this particular draw. It’s full of tiny jackets and my shorts and skirts. Some of which I had to put on to make sure that they even still fit. I think I got rid of at least 10 of them, so I think it evens out.

  • Head out to a movie and dinner with my partner. This is always an issue for me because of my anxiety issues. I tend to do better when we see a movie I actually want to see.

I knew that this one wasn’t going to happen! My partner is not only the biggest procrastinator of all time, but he’s also the biggest waster of time. All month he’s had other things to do, then plays his games and THEN he goes and do what he’s actually been supposed to be doing. Next week we can’t do it either, we’ll be three hours away from civilisation.

  • Not take Panadol (Ibuprofen) for one of the long trips (I have travel anxieties) and start taking my new natural medicine instead.

Unfortunately this one never ended up happening in the end. I have stopped taking them for drives that are short and very repetitive, which is a step in the right direction. It doesn’t help when your father is suddenly going in and out of hospital though, so your anxiety is all over the place. Unfortunately I did freeze when trying to get onto a bus. I do better when I can wind down a window and have the breeze in my face and the busses do not have them here.

  • I am going to start meditating at least twice a week.

I have actually been doing this one, but the funny thing about this one. Is that the very first time I got back into it. A freight train blasted it’s horn, my dog started barking at nothing, an aeroplane flew past and the birds became hysterical outside. Still managed to keep it all together though!

  • I also want to buy a daily planner. My plan is to get one of these this week!

Funnily enough I haven’t done this one. It just never seemed to happen and I don’t really know why.

  • I need to also work out a “planned” week off from all works that I go too. I need it!

I didn’t end up planning this week off…yet! The week that I had planned to take off, I suddenly was asked to work all these hours, and I realised it was because it was the first week of school holidays. So I might have to wait to until after the school holidays to have a week off.

Check my Blog tomorrow for my October Goals.

Make a Wish

My horoscopes said that I just need to “make a wish” this week. Instead of concentrating on what I want, I need to work on what I want to get what I need. I am actually into horoscopes, but the ones that they do weekly in the newspaper is not the ones I follow to the “T”. Mainly because those ones are just to general, they are not specific enough, for that you need a lot more detail.

However, I think making wishes helps to achieve what we want too and every Monday I make wishes for what I want to achieve for that particular week.

Sims 4!

In case you hadn’t realised I am a bit of a “Geek”…a nice one of course, not all “Oh so you only play PC games, well you suck!”…I love all the games, including the ones that I can’t even play.  There is one game though that I just LOVE to play, I have been obsessed with it ever since the very first version of it came out (2000!) The Sims!

I love creating the characters, creating their lives and creating their relationships. The Sims 4 is even better than the others! The creation of the your character just surpasses all the other Sims games. I know that it is a coincidence, but one of the outfits for the characters I actually have in real life!

At the moment I have just received an achievement for playing the Sims 4 for 5 hours and I’ve only had it the one day…Shocking, I know! I thought that maybe it was time to get off the PC and came back on the PC to write about this game that I just love and is very magical to me. At the moment I have created a character after myself (of course) Orlando Bloom and Thorin Oakenshield.
