Which do you think is better for you brain? Too multi-task or not too multi task.
I’m not going to answer outright, I’m going to write this out. Please while you read this, stay in the moment and read this post. Do not do anything else, just read.
I was watching television program on the ABC the other day called “Our Brain”. It was absolutely fascinating.
I wanted to write about one specific thing that I found really interesting from the documentary. Multi tasking.
When I listened to it, it made a lot of sense.
The term multi tasking was from computers. Now clearly, our brains are not computers. As humans, therefore we are not actually multi tasking. What we are actually doing is called swish tasking. We’re not focusing on one task, we’re going back and forth between tasks. Which ultimately, stresses our brain out.
There is a huge difference between focusing and swishing around.
Like it says in the documentary “Multi tasking doesn’t exist”.
Absolutely, I think that in today’s world we have many distractions and our concentration levels are not the same as they used to be. I think that if we swish task as you said we often don’t produce the best results.

We don’t, according to this documentary. It’s much better for us to stay deep focused on one thing at a time. But, it’s kind of hard too do. I keep trying to do it at work, lol
