Book Banning

It’s a weird notion, book banning.

It’s also a weirder notion that I, Lolsys Library, have not written about the situation yet.

I’m not going to talk about it from a political view, I am going to write about it from a human view. First though, the below link is a lit of books that have been banned over the years. You will recognise a lot of them. Some are even taught in schools now. Which is a lot about my point of this post.

Even Tolkien books were burnt for Satanism in 2001.

I have never once known book banning to “work”. It always ends up working against the people burning the book. Just because one organisation burn or “cancel” a book, doesn’t mean that the book can’t be purchased elsewhere. So it doesn’t really work anyway. The only time a book “cancelling” REALLY works, is when the publisher or the author does it themselves.

Take Dr Seuss for example, they have stopped publishing a book that was no one was buying anymore. When that happened I remember seeing total ignoramus trying to flood Facebook with the Dr Seuss’s that you can still buy/purchase. What would be the point of that exactly? I bet more than 3/4 quarters of those people wouldn’t have even known the name of the Dr Seuss book that had stopped being published.

So why do people KEEP doing it, when it clearly does not. It seems to be it always has the opposite effect, which seems to be in contradiction with the book burners want. It’d be interesting to see what goes on in their mind sometimes. But then again, I don’t want to know either, lol
